My dog's name is Goofy and Melissa took care of him while I was on vacation. She is an excellent dog sitter. She was patient with him, specially when she gave him his medicine. She played with him constantly and walked him almost every day, which was good for him since I never do it. I truly recommend her services.

Chantelle and Mutt Butts are the most reliable and down to earth pet sitters. Chantelle was able to fit in my cat visits right away and always follows up with me on the same day of the visit. Best prices around! She also provides dog walking services to my girlfriend- which has also been a great experience. Our animals look forward to her visits

Enika is an amazing horsewoman who teaches riders at every level. I’ve ridden half my life and never took a lesson until I went to Boston Equine. Enika has taught me how to ride properly to protect and support my horse. I couldn’t be more pleased with her training methods and how accommodating she is to her riders and boarders. Her knowledge of horse care and behavior is comforting...especially when you are leaving your horse in someone else’s hands. I’ve also had her train a young mare that was quite mean (biting) and also explosive with no warning...after 2 sessions with Enika she made significant improvements in both areas and now, 8 months later she is. Completely different horse! Kudos to Enika and Boston Equine...I’m a huge fan.

Audreys is excellent! Extremely knowledgeable and professional. I have 3 dogs and Audreys came out prior to job and met with dogs and us. She went over and above with both our dogs and home. We have already used her services twice and have booked several more. Audrey is our go to pet sitter...she has become family. We are extremely selective when it comes to our babies and before Audrey only two people (family) have stayed with them. Audrey has been an angel. 100% Recommend!

Christina at Edinger farm couldn't have done a better job at reintroducing me to horseback riding. As an adult looking for a relaxed and fun atmosphere, Christina ensured that I was always safe while encouraging continuous growth and understanding on the care and riding of her horses. She accommodated whatever pace I wanted to take and provided great feedback on areas of improvement. The only reason I stopped was that her schedule changed and she was unavailable at the times my schedule allowed.

Jessie is an outstanding riding instructor and trainer. Every time that I went to the barn, she always made me feel so welcome and comfortable. She gives each of her students so much attention, and makes you feel like you're the only one. When I felt nervous at times, she was always there to help me overcome my fears. She is one of the kindest and most caring people you will ever meet. She takes good care of her horses as well.

They took care of my three cats on short notice. They visited twice a day in order to give one of my cats his antibiotics. They texted me updates and photos. They made my business trip a little less stressful knowing my cats were in good hands. I came home to three happy and safe cats! Thank you, Pup Patrol Walkers & Sitters!

When I began working with Candace my good fox hunting mare, Tabasco, was showing signs of back pain/tenderness. Tabasco had a ground-covering,hollow-back trot. Candace worked with Tabasco and quickly the mare began using herself properly, that was mid hunting season last year. Now the mare shows no signs of back tenderness and is LOVELY to hunt as she works in a nice round frame, crosses the hunt country in a delightful canter and I am one very happy rider!

    About

I've interacted and dealt with every breed of dog that you could think of. I have two dogs myself at home and know all about taking care of these animals. My dog is Canine Good Citizen and Emotional Service Animal certified and has been through both intermediate and advanced levels of training. I trained him myself during the classes, which gave me a lot of experience with working with dogs. I'm looking for clients that need their dog(s) walked/cared for when they are not home.

    Q & A

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

How much should you pay for a pet sitter?

Pet sitting provides your precious pet with in-home care. A pet-sitter can make a brief visit during the day to provide snacks, playtime or affection, or stay at your house for one or more nights to tend to your pet. Prices for pet-sitting will vary based on length of the visit. Nationally, pet sitting prices range from $20 to $30, although prices run higher for your sitter to stay the night. Prices will also be affected by where you live in the country. Here are some examples of average pet-sitting prices based on length of time and region:

    • 30-minute visit: $17 in a small Texas town.
    • 30-minute visit: $25 in Southern California.
      • 45-minute visit: $28.
      • 60-minute visit: $32.
    • Overnight stay (10 hours): $50 in Texas.
    • Overnight stay (10 hours): $85 in Southern California.
      • 12 hours: $100.
      • 24 hours: $200. This is a good option for a sick, elderly or brand-new pet that needs constant supervision.

How much does it cost to hire a house sitter?

House-sitting can be a lifesaver when you’re leaving town for any length of time. Whether you work remotely, you’re taking a much-needed vacation, or you just want to road-trip for a few days, it’s wise to have a pro keep an eye on your house and pets while you’re gone. Your home is more likely to stay safe and you won’t have to wrangle the kitty into a kennel to travel with you. The national average pet-sitting price ranges between $20 and $30. Pet-sitting and house-sitting costs will vary based on where you live in the country and regional labor rates. Another factor in cost is how long you want the house-sitter to stay. Some people prefer to have the house-sitter stay the night at their house, perhaps to care for an elderly pet or simply to keep a watchful eye on the home at all times. Overnight stays will cost more, ranging anywhere from $50 to $100, depending on services provided. For day visits, house-sitting and pet-sitting prices will increase incrementally the longer the visit and the more service you want performed. For example, a quick 10-minute visit to feed and walk the pet and bring in the mail could be $12.50, a 25-minute visit could be $18, a 40-minute visit $25, and a 50-minute visit $32.
