Michael was very helpful in coming up with a very nice design for yard. He had excellent selections for the plants and recommended repurposing some plants. He also is open to further question should some arise. He also suggested contractors to do the work. My wife and I are quite happy with his work.

J. Sharp Studios created the logo for my company. As a graphic designer myself I could have easily created it, but I would still be attempting to design it this day. Anyways, I was contacted and asked various questions about what I envisioned for my logo, color scheme, etc. A couple of days later he showed me a design and gosh was I impressed. He perfectly created what I wanted. If you are reading this and are wondering if you should chose him to design anything for you or your company I HIGHLY suggest you go to him. He's very professional and the quality of his work is phenomenal! He is working on my website now and I cannot wait to see how that is going to turn out.

Juicy Tees did a fabulous job providing the logo on my art camp aprons. They took the time to recreate the logo with a background color so it was visible in all pictures. They also took the time to make sure the logo was able to be printed on our aprons as this had never been done before. Juicy Tees also provided my business embroidered shirts and magnets. Overall, it was a wonderful experience and I look forward to working on a new project with Juicy Tees!

I asked Jackie for a logo design for one of my clients, described it in a few details and provided color hex codes, and the logo she gave me was wonderful! I wouldn't change a thing.

I am a graphic designer now based in Greenville, SC. I have more than 30 years of experience in marketing and advertising. I deliver effective electronic and print design solutions for large and small companies across the region and across the country. Starting in the newspaper business in the early 80s, I was the creative services director for the launch of USA Today, a Gannett company in New York City and Washington, D.C. Since 1990, I have worked as an independent design consultant with many Fortune 500 companies, including Coca-Cola, UPS, and Kimberley-Clark, among others. I have created industry award-winning print and web promotions for companies like Mohawk Industries, Sprint, Inc., Ashley Furniture, Circuit City, Galderma, GlaxoSmithKline, Hanes, Huttig Building Products, Price Pfister, RadioShack, National Data Corporation, and LHS, to name a few. I am passionate about what I do, and my aim is to make your organization look great, help you stand out from your competition and meet your marketing and advertising goals! Much of my recent focus has been working with client businesses and organizations developing logos, print collateral, and websites that incorporate SEO, analytics, and social media integration. The WordPress platform has been a predominant medium which offers clients a cost-efficient and effective way to get a site up and running quickly -- designed and customized to meet their needs. I have access to and collaborate with many talented copywriters, programmers, and other developers and use their services if the need arises. During my downtime, I enjoy playing golf, cycling, and walking my dogs Max and Mickey, and one of my newest hobbies is photography. You can see some local photos in my blog. Thank you for taking a look at my work. Hope there is something I can do for you!

    Q & A

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

What makes a good logo design?

A good logo is an easily identifiable, memorable image that represents your brand. A good logo design aligns with your business model and expresses your company’s core values. A good logo design is simple, appealing, and easy for customers and viewers to quickly process. Some of the key components of a great logo are type, color palette and design. The scale, font and arrangement of the text you select will all make a difference in the feel and representation of your brand. A graphic designer will help you home in on the colors that best represent your identity and help you keep the color palette simple. The design of your logo includes the shapes you select and the way the color and type are arranged together. Investing in the services of a professional to create your logo design is likely a smart investment for any size business. Nationally, the average price range for a logo designer ranges from $170 to $250.

How much does it cost to create a logo?

Logo design is an important part of your company’s brand development. More than an image with text and color, a logo communicates the tone and personality of your company to your potential customers. Hiring a graphic designer with an appealing portfolio and quality reviews is a solid start to creating a winning logo design. The cost to create a logo can depend on how in-depth the marketing and design services you request are. Designers can create one logo in multiple formats (horizontal, vertical, etc.) to fit both your website and social media platforms, they can create a variety of designs for clients to select from, or they can create multiple logos for one client who needs branding for more than one venture. Logos may be text-only, text and image, or image-only. Many designers and design firms charge by the hour for their services, while other companies offer packages bundled with design services. Here are some examples of cost:

    • National average cost to hire a logo designer: $170-$250.
    • Average hourly rate for a freelance marketing consultant: about $150.
    • Tiered pricing for logo design packages from one firm:
      • Package One: $200 for three logo concepts, three rounds of revision, and a variety of format and color end designs.
      • Package Two: $350 for 10 logo concepts, unlimited rounds of revision, and a variety of format and color end designs.
      • Package Three: $550 for everything included in the Package Two, plus business card design, letterhead design, social media graphics and an email signature.
      • Package Four: $850 for everything in the Package Three, plus custom brand guidelines, which outline a strategy for creating a consistent branding in the client’s business.
