Introduction: Self distancing but still need dog training? I offer day training. I'll pick your dog up, work on basic or advanced obedience in your neighborhood or nearby park. After I will send an email to let you know what we worked on and how you can maintain it until the next session. Once self distancing is a thing of the past we can meet for one-on-one sessions to transfer the skills to you. Or, we could stand outside 6 feet apart and I can explain what I've worked on. I use positive reinforcement and a clicker to communicate with and train dogs. This method is easy to learn and very effective. Using positive reinforcement training can also help build confidence in shy dogs. My goal is to help the owner and dog to learn new skills so everyone is happy and the dog can be taken out to different settings. I love working with the dogs. I enjoy seeing the client's response when their dog has learned a new skill and they are happy with the results. I also enjoy seeing the dogs that I've worked with out in public. I have clients with shy dogs who come out to see me at events to show me how well their dogs are doing. I meet clients downtown with their dogs walking nicely on leash or laying quietly while their owners are eating.

Dog Training

I had an awesome experience. She showed me some new ways to work on focus with my puppy. I will be setting up more appointments with her soon. She knows what she is doing and is amazing with my puppy. Trust me she is definitely worth hiring. The skills will help you have a successful training experience with your dog or puppy.

Dog Training

Pawsitive Effects Dog Training was really helpful for our energetic 1 year old Australian Shepherd. She gave us the tools and techniques to continue to work on positive behaviors and even helped us understand our dogs anxiety. She really makes a bond with your dog and your dog will be so excited to see her. Also has flexibility in her schedule and location of training. Would recommend.

Dog Training

We absolutely loved working with Julie! She was quick to respond and get our training session scheduled. We have a stubborn little pup who she trained with ease. She loved him so well and wanted us to work as a team. I really loved her approach because she was respectful to us, and our puppy. We look forward to working with Julie again when we get our next puppy!

FAQs

  • What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

I offer 1 hour private sessions for $50. You don't have to purchase a set amount of sessions and pay as you go. If you just want to address one or two issues I recommend you plan on at least three sessions. If you purchase a 6 week session I will give a 10% discount.

  • What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

I teach the customer and the dog at the same time so they can continue to train on their own. I usually meet once a week for a 1 hour session but am flexible.

  • What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

I attended Animal Behavior College Obedience Instructor Training Program and mentored with a local dog trainer. I continue to read and take classes to keep up with new methods. I've been a trainer for 13 years.
