It was a pleasure having our inspection done by Mr. Ackerman. He was a true professional. The inspection was very detailed and we got the results back quicker than I thought we would, in less than 24 hours. We had a few questions, and he was very prompt in getting back to us to answer them. His price and availability could not be beat. We will definitely use his services again in the future. He was also very nice and friendly, a plus in my book!

David saved my behind from the wrath of my wife!
I hired some other guys to put in a patio door. They were supposed to be licensed. They performed the most ridiculously awful door installation I have ever seen. The door was uneven, not properly sealed, would not close and then for some reason chose to suspend the door off the base of the floor on a 2x4. They left visible foam on the door, trim was still off, they left the old door leaning against the wall in my kitchen AND they left the trash on my deck and in the back yard. Oh yea, they cut the wire to my alarm system and then had the nerve to tell me it was already like that! I have never seen anything like that from people who claimed to be professional. Let me tell you, the lady of the house was very very upset.
I called David and he came right out and I don't know how but he FIXED that horrible mess the other guys left. He was polite and very professional. He was thorough and made sure the work was correct and that we were satisfied. He even cleaned up the trash the other guys left!
I have already talked to him about doing other projects. We will use him from now on.

In 2013, David Ackerman Building Solutions provided general residential contracting services to us for an $80,000 major renovation of a fourteen year old, 3,000 SF home in Cleveland SC.
The construction was done in phases over nine months to allow us to continue to live in the house while work was done. David was flexible in working with us on this unusual schedule, and considerate in conducting the work and scheduling subcontractors with minimum interference.
The scope of work included interior demolition, a new zoned HVAC system, rewiring the entire house, new electrical panels, new standby electrical generator, construction of a new kitchen and master bath/dressing room, reconfiguration of spaces for an enlarged master bedroom, guest bedroom and laundry/utility room. Work included interior finishes and trim, lighting upgrades, plumbing upgrades, new skylights and exterior deck improvements.
We contracted with David for a lump sum amount negotiated on the basis of detailed cost estimates and sub bids. He demonstrated the ability to work within the budget and maintain accurate accounting. Owner directed changes or increases (and decreases) in scope were negotiated fairly and reasonably, and stayed within our budget contingency amount.
The quality of David's work is outstanding. He is skilled in general construction of all types and also in electrical work. We were especially pleased with his attention to detail and getting things right.
He selected and managed qualified electrical, mechanical and plumbing subcontractors on the project. He monitored their work closely and worked well with them to ensure a high level of quality. We dealt only with him and he managed the subs.
Although it did not affect our project outcome, the only recommendation we have is that David expand his project management documentation system for greater detail. While he kept a good weekly record of work and costs, a more detailed summary of total work and costs, showing exact levels of completion, would have saved us some administrative time.
Throughout the course of the project, David routinely focused on making sure we were satisfied. He is skilled, capable and honest and we highly recommend him.

I was very satisfied with the work performed and how professional he was . The attention to detail and thorough review of house prevented me from buying a house that was in really bad shape and I would not have find out till it was too late .
