Ed M. says, "I wanted to take a moment to thank you and your entire team for the work you completed in our living room and kitchen. The finished work was exceptional, and your attention to detail, craftsmanship and pride in the job were obvious. I especially want the young men who were in our home doing the actual work to know that their effort did not go unnoticed. They conducted themselves professionally, listened to what we wanted and followed through with quality work. Please make sure this message is shared with each of them. We have experienced issues and disappointing outcomes with other projects in the past, so it was genuinely refreshing to see people work hard, take pride in their craft and care about the finished result. Good leadership matters in this industry, and it was obvious in the way the project was managed and in how your team approached its work. Your pricing was fair and solid, and the quality and service justified every dollar we paid. You communicated clearly, did what you said you would do and handled our expectations exactly as professionals should. I believe good work deserves to be recognized just as directly as problems need to be addressed. You and your team earned that recognition. We are enjoying our home even more because of the work you completed, and I would gladly hire you again and confidently recommend you to others. Thank you for a job exceptionally well done."See more

Bart Phillips says, "Working with Monest General Contracting was an excellent experience for us. From the initial consultation call to the final walkthrough, the Monest team was professional, responsive, and clearly showed integrity with how they were consistently committed to delivering high quality work. They were friendly, communicated clearly with us throughout the project, stayed on schedule, and paid attention to many small details that I know many other contractors would neglect. What stood out most was their honesty, professionalism, and craftsmanship. They made the entire process smooth and stress-free for us, and the finished products (new roof, driveway, and siding) exceeded my expectations. If youre looking for a reliable contractor for roofing, siding, driveways, renovations, or other construction projects, I highly recommend Monest General Contracting Services. Ill definitely use them again for future projects."See more

FAQs

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

There are several great options for waterproof basement flooring. For example, epoxy floors are waterproof but are thicker and sturdier than paint. Make sure the concrete substrate has been prepared for application.

Tile is a designer’s dream, giving you a moisture-resistant surface that’s infinitely customizable. Rubber sheets or tiles are also good waterproof options, particularly for playrooms, workout areas or laundry rooms.

Vinyl tiles and planks imitate wood or other materials very convincingly, provide moisture resistance and last a long time. And sheet vinyl is affordable and a great waterproofing solution for those in need of quick fixes.

Reviews for Asheville basement professionals on Thumbtack

From Kimberly D.

Brothers Ross LLC
Brothers Ross LLC
My husband and I contacted Brothers Ross because we wanted to finished our basement, enclosing our garage, opening the staircase to upstairs and giving our home a more upstairs and downstairs feel vs a basement and house feel. I needed a laundry room built, and also wanted to have my kitchen tiled and back deck expanded. It took us a while to get in contact with someone. We had to call a few times over the span of two weeks to get a call back but got in contact with Andrew and set up a time for him to come out and give our house a thorough look-over so we could get a pretty accurate quote. Andrew came out about a week after we got him on the phone and was very detailed and gave great suggestions on what would and wouldn't work which we appreciated. He came out on a Wednesday and told us he would try to have us a quote by the weekend or first thing Monday morning. It never came so we figured Andrew was super busy with another job so we gave it an additional five days and gave him a ring to check up on the progress of the quote. My husband called him and felt like Andrew didn't even remember who we were. We got "oh yeah, the basement remodel.." so basically we felt like we were forgotten. So we were hoping maybe he would have the quote after we reminded him we were still waiting on pins and needles to get this started, because I did make it pretty clear that we were needing to have this done ASAP because we were also having fencing installing and the house painted. Well, it's been almost an additional three weeks since that reminder phone call and we still haven't gotten a phone call, quote, "I'm sorry..", just nothing.. we're very upset and disappointed. We've decided at this point to not even remodel our basement this year. I'm not sure why we received such poor customer service, but when a customer, and a customer who is going to be paying into the tens of thousands of dollars, can't even receive a call back.. that's a MAJOR red flag. I got on Thumbtack today to look into starting another project and ran across Brothers Ross page and see that Andrew's team has completed a remodel job in the recent weeks and we feel blown off and basically like our job wasn't important enough to take on. Maybe in a few years we'll try again with another company.
