FAQs
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Constantly. I'm subscribed to several online forums and video forums where I am able to study more into things as I come across them. I feel in this industry there's always something you must educate yourself on, so I am constantly learning different parts of the trade. This week it's been audio: understanding the different frequencies and setting up a field recorder that can record in 3 different ways simultaneously.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
Jumping in the water with an outdated GoPro while working on a sailboat in the Virgin Islands is what started it all. There were so many things I was experiencing, above and below sea level, and one day it occurred to me, "This is a really, really special time in my life, and I am never going to get this time back." I wanted to remember it well, so I grabbed a GoPro 2 and jumped in...literally. I was creating these videos set to my favorite music and started getting approached by different sailing yachts in my industry to create marketing videos for them and well...the rest is history. I love filming and can't help but think of the world through filming. My dreams at night are full of aerial drone shoots and editing and filming, it's the only thing I've ever done in life where I get into that "flow" zone and lose track of time.
- What types of customers have you worked with?
I most recently have been filming a lot of sport-fishing footage and aerial real estate footage via drones, but recently relocating to Charleston, South Carolina I am really looking to focus on wedding videography more in this market.
