FAQs
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Yes, I am constantly searching for seminars, or classes, or engaging in converstaions with credible sources who have many years of experience in our industry. I believe that seminars are one of the best pathways a company can take to stay up to date on industry practices, new installation methods, case studies for common problems in the landscape, and technology used and developed for our field. In my honest opinion there is always something new to be learned to help better yourself, employees, clients, and the environment.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
When I was younger maybe 8 or 9 years old, I saw a commercial for a toy that I wanted. It was from my favorite movie/cartoon at the time Ghostbusters. I was so excited to tell my mom about it and how much I wanted that toy! She simply said if you want it that bad you will figure out how to go buy it. Scratching my head thinking, and a bit disappointed at the time, I was wondering how am I going to come up with the money to buy a toy??? I dont have a job and my allowance is only $5 bucks a week. Then it hit me.......cutting the grass on Saturday before I could go play with my neighborhood friends was apart of my chores. Hmmmm I thought. So I went down to the shed and got the mower, weedeater, and a gas jug, went to some of the neighbors houses that I knew and started knocking on doors. Of course I got a few that said no, but when I got my first yes I became obsessed with getting people to let me mow their yards! This went on for a few weekends and I had kind of forgotten about the toy. Well I had saved enough money to buy the toy I wanted and a couple other things to go with it. Since then I have never been far from the lawn and landscape field and decided to make a serious career out if before I finished college. And here I am today!
