I have been working with Drew Kiel for 6 months. He's helped me achieve both nutrition & fitness goals. When I began with Drew I had shoulder pain & some restrictions with my workout. He gave me exercises to work through the problem & I'm pain free now! I highly recommend working with Drew no matter what your age or fitness goals are! He brings personal experience as a strength & conditioning coach as well as knowledge as a physical therapist.

There are many reasons to hire Bill & iCoachLife for your career/life coaching needs, but out of those many reasons, the most important is Bill's genuine authenticity. This business is not a side gig for Bill, it's his primary focus and I've rarely met someone with his energy and positive outlook on life and the lives of his clients. No matter what state of mind you are in when you walk into a session w/ Bill, you'll leave there feeling empowered to tackle the many life challenges that are coming at you each day. Sometimes in life, we need someone outside of our immediate sphere of family, friends and colleagues to remind us how blessed we really are, and that each day is an OPPORTUNITY to create a better life, while being grateful for what we have already. Whatever it is that you are looking for in a life/career coach, consider Bill a catalyst to that discovery journey. Starting from the first session, he's 100% in your corner and truly wants to see you be successful.

Anna has worked with both of my children over the past three years. She helped raise my daughters ACT score up by three points. Anna was instrumental in helping my son with organization, task completion, and time management of his homework. She teaches strategies that the kids use for the rest of their student career. I would highly recommend Anna Thomas!!!

I have come to believe that to grow into who we truly want to be and live meaningful, purposeful, joyful lives, most, if not all of us, will need the objective viewpoint, support and accountability from a coach, mentor, therapist; whatever we are comfortable with calling that person. Working with Deborah has been a lifesaver for me at a time in my life when I had reached the height of frustration and almost lost hope of a positive future. She has been that constant source of support and accountability, helping me realize and keeping me focused on my calling, helping me address and overcome foundational lies that have held me back for years in shame and unawareness and helping me reclaim my power to act on managing my life to create meaning and purpose. Through insight from her own life story (I'm not alone; it's not just me!) and her continuous and compassionate support of moving me forward, I see a light at the end of the tunnel and have hope that I am beginning to understand my calling and how to contribute my unique gifts I was meant to share with others. I don't gravitate toward the "guru types"; Deborah's a real, down-to-earth, "takes it all in stride" kinda woman, and wants only the best for those with whom she works. If you're not living the life you envisioned, she can definitely help get you track!

Amanda is simply the best resource I've ever had. Understanding, flexible, very professional and always willing to help. I've done tons of traditional therapy and nothing really worked out as much as the time I spent with her. Open your heart and let her expertise help you! It helped me in the worst time of my life! :) Thank you ALWAYS Amanda!

Mary is the best! At my first meeting with Mary I was walking like the Mummy (dragging my right foot) with acute pain from a hip injury a couple of years earlier. She gently made an assessment and we did several modified yoga postures and stretches. I went home with a list of Egoscue stretches and movements. She also initiated my to the 8 limbs of yoga and we meditated. That was about 9 months ago. While I admit I am not the "poster Child" yoga student. my life has changed. Physically, I now have much greater range-of-motion and flexibility. My acute pain is gone and the times I overdo an activity and my hip screams at me, I know which modified yoga postures give me relief. I am so grateful for my expanding spiritual awareness and new peaceful demeanor. Mary is a true professional, but as a client/student, I look forward to the spiritual benefit as much as the physical relief. Mary goes far beyond to taylor the therapy and make the most out of the personal journey. I cannot imagine a better practitioner or a better experience. -Peggy

Darren is an inspiration for fitness and well-being. He's helped guide me and inspire me to keep going. Diet and exercise is hard! But when you've got someone like Darren to encourage you, it makes it worth it. I would highly reccommend Darren to anyone looking for a fitness coach or any kind of health consulting. Not only is he a great guy, but his energy inspires you as well. Thanks Darren!

      About

I am a certified health and wellness coach who takes a holistic approach in covering all aspects of a person's life: career, relationships, health, and spiritual.

      About

I am a life coach not a liscensed therapist or counselor in Tennessee. I worked for seven years in a dual diagnosis mental health/drug and alcohol facility. I not only helped both adults and adolescents get sober but even more so dealt with patients issues in their relationships, spotted issues and came up with solutions that could sabotage continued sobriety/happiness. Since most patients used alcohol and drugs to cope with problems in their life, my belief is by fixing those underlying issues so patients no longer feel the need to medicate to deal with life. I love relationship therapy, conflict resolution and strengthening relationships. I have a keen ability to see the whole picture and am able to point out in a loving but matter of fact way. I don't take sides I call it as it is. I had a foster daughter with serious family, mental health issues and lots of personal problems. I got her at age 15 and raised her till 19. After lots of life coaching, family counseling, self esteem work she graduated high school and even went to college. She went on to getting married and having two kids. She was a difficult case but her mom trusted my abilities enough to sign over custody to me. Lastly my approach to life coaching is unique in that it involves taking a serious look at a clients character defects, letting go of resentments that hold people back from true happiness, helping clients identify the root cause of their emotions/problems and learning to truly love themselves.

      Q & A

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

      What is a life coach?

A professional, accredited life coach works with people to help them make important changes in their life, either growing in their profession or changing gears in their personal lives. They help clients turn their dreams or wishes into realistic, attainable goals. They guide people through the process of making life changes by helping them evaluate the steps they must take to reach a particular goal, then help them decide how — and whether — to take those steps in the most efficient, effective and rewarding way possible. A life coach acts as a motivator, strategist and accountability partner. Unlike a therapist, a life coach doesn’t help solve problems from your past — they’re focused on helping you move forward with new ways of acting and thinking that will help you reach your goals. Some people specialize in particular types of life coaching, including life balancing coaches, small business coaches, executive coaches and personal finance coaches. Some meet clients in person, while others hold consultations over the phone.

Regardless of which type of life coach you’re interested in, make sure the person holds an International Coach Federation (ICF) credential. There are three tiers of credentials: Associate, Professional and Master, which require coaching experience ranging from 100 hours to 2,500 hours.

How much does a life coach cost?

A life coach helps clients set and reach professional and personal goals, develop positive habits, and deal with stress. Some people meet with a life coach once or twice, while others form an ongoing professional relationship, meeting regularly in person or on the phone. The average national cost to meet with a life coach ranges from $80 to $130 an hour. Some coaches offer per-session pricing, especially for one-time meetings; expect to pay an average of $100-$125. People who want to work with a coach over a period of time to explore life transitions, career growth or lifestyle changes may be able to get discounted pricing in a package. For example, three 60-minute sessions cost an average of $300, four 60-minute sessions cost an average of $350, and four 60- to 90-minute sessions plus unlimited contact between sessions cost an average of $400. Some specific types of coaching, such as relationship or marriage coaching, cost more than standard life coaching. For instance, three 60-minute relationship coaching sessions cost an average of $500, four 60-minute sessions cost an average of $550, and six 60- to 90-minute sessions cost an average of $650 when purchased as a package. Training and experience can also affect the cost of hiring a life coach. An Associate Certified Coach, who holds a certification that requires only 60 hours of training and 100 hours of coaching experience, will charge less than a Master Certified Coach, who typically has at least 200 hours of training and 2,500 hours of coaching experience.

      Why get a life coach?

People of all ages and in all careers have called in a life coach. Life coaches are accredited professionals who can help you figure out the tangible changes you can make in your life to reach your goals; they can even help you turn your dreams into goals, if you’re not sure where to go next. A life coach can also help people find their purpose in life. Life coaching clients often have an idea of what they want to do, such as help people or work with animals, but don’t know how to turn that passion into a career. A life coach can help clients work through the options to find a clear path with concrete steps that lead to an attainable goal. A life coach can also help clients make a major career change, such as starting a new business. Life coaches can help clients develop better habits that will make them more successful, acting as an accountability partner. Life coaches also often guide their clients through major transitions in life, such as a career change or other stressful situations that are made easier with guidance from a neutral third party.
