Jacob is great! I've been doing singing lessons with him for the past few months and I am already better then I was, and am more confident than I was!
I have greatly enjoyed my experience at Nashville Music Academy! The lessons (banjo) themselves have been wonderful and the experience with the company is top notch. They have helped me by setting up recurring appointments and payments to make the experience as easy as possible.
I began taking piano lessons with John in January. I had a very limited background with piano and music in general. John makes learning to play the piano and read music very attainable and fun. I look forward to my weekly lessons, and have already learned a great deal under his instruction. I have a few songs under my belt that I am not the least ashamed to play for friends and family!! If you're looking for a knowledge and interesting music teacher in East Nashville, John is a great option!
Nathan has been teaching my daughter how to play guitar and she's enjoying his teaching style and learning a lot at the same time. She had never picked up a guitar before and so we had to sort of force her to start the lessons at first. After only a few lessons, she was practicing on her own and enjoying her ability to play pieces of songs. We have even joined in and had him teach us some things on the side after her lesson was over which he was more than happy to do. I appreciate the time slot he's given us since we work all week and don't come home until later in the evening. We are seeing great improvements in how our daughter plays guitar and she is able to even teach us a few things that she learned! Thanks Nathan!
We really enjoyed Kristen! She seemed to know the music business well and shared her experiences with us. Kristen tailored her lessons to my daughter's needs, and I was able to see improvements quickly. I would definitely recommend Kristen.
Caleb is an outstanding teacher and person. He is patient, caring and is always trying to invent different and unique ways to help his student understand the beautiful world of music. I have taken lessons with several instructors over many years and he is by far the best!
My three children (13, 11 and 8) have taken piano lessons with Marcin for the past year and have all made great strides in their abilities due to his good work. Marcin keeps them motivated by allowing them to play current hits. I am impressed with Marcin's promptness and the quality of his instruction as well as his ability to keep my children interested in playing the piano. I am thrilled to have such a high quality instructor willing to come to my home and teach.
The experience of learning guitar from Matt has blown any expectation that I might of had. I came to Nashville from LA with the desire to learn some guitar basics geared towards song writing. I wasn't sure if that was a feasible option, but that was my hope. Not only have I learned many basics, but Matt's style of teaching has connected so many dots from long lost childhood piano lessons in a way that really makes sense for me. Matt's an amazing musician which is obvious up front, but his aptitude in assigning learning materials that both interest you and push you without overwhelming you has made this learning experience nothing short of exceptional. He's patient, informative, and the type of teacher that puts you immediately at ease. If you're looking for lessons, you'd be crazy to choose anyone else. Definitely five brilliantly, shining gold stars!
I've been a mostly self taught musician for years, and have been in several different bands since I first started playing. I play guitar and keyboards in my current band, and wanted to expand my knowledge of music theory and overall ability to play piano. Before taking lessons with Jon, my music knowledge basically consisted of random tutorials and lessons on YouTube and observing other players. Jon has helped give me a clear direction of what I needed to do to improve with lessons that he has tailored to allow me to learn exactly what I had hoped to. I didn't really have any desire to learn to read sheet music, but rather learn to read charts and use my own creativity to make music. He is patient, he explains things well, and he is genuinely invested in helping me become a better player. I am 24, but I feel certain that these attributes apply to his lessons with children as well. Highly recommend!
Lael is an amazing teacher and person. He always brings great energy to each lesson and has inspired my kids to love the drums and music.
We loved Annie. She was so flexible with our ever-changing plans and her music is beautiful. All the guests from our wedding said she was amazing.
Our kids have been taking piano lessons for over two years and we could not be more pleased. Eric and Sarah operate in an extremely professional manner, always on time and makes great use of lesson time. Eric is fun, encouraging, and very knowledgeable.
Matt is great!!! He’s very patient and makes the lessons fun for my child.
I've worked with several others in the past, none of whom made me look forward to learning music nearly as much as Jimmy. He created a comfortable space with his quick humor, and obvious passion for his craft. I didn't feel the ominous "classroom" feeling that others had given off, and it was refreshing to be able to talk about not only the music I was learning, but the music I would love to make in the future. It's a special talent to not only be fantastic at what you do musically, but to also teach in a way that's engaging and fun. Highly recommended!
I'm a songwriter but not a very good guitar player. I've taken four lessons so far from Denny and his instruction just in that short time has significantly improved my understanding and limited ability playing guitar.
I've been taking guitar lessons with Dan for a couple months now. I have been played piano since I can remember, and always wanted to learn how to play guitar, but never got around to it. I can say I'm definitely getting more comfortable and confident with it after a few lessons. I like that he doesn't just teach you basic chords, but also really gets into finger picking and intricate exercises as well. On top of being a great teacher, he's such a friendly and inspiring human being. I would highly recommend guitar lessons with him!
I really can't say enough good things about Natalie! My 12 year old daughter was fortunate to have been Natalie's voice and piano student for the past year. During this time, her abilities and confidence grew in an amazing way. Natalie's style of teaching and love of music was evident each time we took my daughter for a lesson. Highly, highly recommend her!
My daughter has taken both violin and piano at The Music House from different teachers. I can highly recommend the teachers - they are professional, and also connect to the kids to make music engaging and fun. This has been a formative experience in my daughter's life and I am extremely grateful towards the teachers and The Music House.
Bob Lewis was my on and off guitar teacher for close to 10 years in Wilkes-Barre Pa. I started with Bob at 12, gave up (my first mistake!) taught myself came back at 16 and studied with him for four or five years. In those four/five years I learned General to Moderate level Music Theory including Diatonic Theory, Chord building Theory, scale theory, chord progressions, picking posture ect. I could go on for days about what I learned but the fact that the social climate of those thirty minute weekly sessions was always calm, relaxed and full of fresh ideas. Every concept was very straight forward and if it was a bit complex (such as modal guitar solos,) Bob would explain it in a way that made sense based on our prior sessions (aka, he actually adapts to your idiosyncrasies ) At any point when I hit a wall Bob was immediately finding ways to climb over the wall. If it was not in that session by next week he would have devised a plan to work on overcoming the daunting idea at hand. Aside from the straight forward learning methods, if you go into a lesson with Bob off the cuff without any goals in mind for your development he can easily break down what you need to work on and how your should work on it. Also... Bob can shred...so fear not fret board wizards! As for what could have been better I have not much to say. The fact is with most good teachers your own ignorance is usually the problem and when i started at 12 by the time i came back at 16 I realized that Bob's method was not flawed, it was my attention span. The Man is a brilliant guitar player and all around musician and is well worth your time.
My daughter takes guitar lessons from Keith. She's 10 and pretty shy but Keith is very patient. He has taught her about new genres of music and new musicians. He encourages her to bring in things she wants to learn. She enjoys her lessons a lot and has discovered a talent she didn't know she had, with Keith's gentle, encouraging direction. She has enjoyed it so much she's inspired her sister to take lessons from Keith as well. In addition, Keith is phenomenonally talented and sometimes he plays a little after her lesson is over, and that's always a treat!
Pamela Pierson is a very talented instructor who cares about the student as well as the music. She takes time to listen to what the student is doing. She also asks the student what they want to accomplish and tailors the lessons toward a common goal. Pamela is also patient where needed but has the ability to be just as firm. I am very grateful as a parent to have found Pamela and have recommended her to many others.
