I made a very smart choice going with HD Perfect. Probably the most professional video company I have ever worked with and I've worked with a lot of them. Great pre-event communications and came very prepared. Had good ideas at the shoot as well. Very well priced and incredible value.

We could not be happier with our wedding pictures and videos that were provided. Mr. Sinclair was very professional from first contact through finish. He is genuinely caring with an engaging personality and was very reasonably priced when compared to other photographers. We would definitely use him again and feel that we got our money's worth. Thanks again John!

Highly recommend for any and all your events! I honestly can't wait to see more of his work! Very wonderful guy and he can pretty much do anything you want with your video plus pull still images from your video. I met Brian at the winery I work for right off of Almaville Road, Avian Glen Winery, I got to see some of his work firsthand and I was mesmerized by the capability of his drones. I highly recommend him. Sincerely Amelia,

Precision Video did such a wonderful job on our wedding video. Kevin came early and covered all the important parts of our big day, and made a beautiful trailer for us to watch before we got our full video. Fabtastic communication and beautiful work.

Joshua played guitar and sang at a three hour rehearsal dinner that our family hosted. He was FANTASTIC. Joshua is not only very talented but also very personable. There were 130 people at the dinner and he read the crowd well, playing a wonderful mix of old and new songs. Joshua is a professional in every sense of the word. I would highly recommend Josh for any event that you are hoping to make very special!

I will definitely use Davis Mallory for any events in the future. We hired him for prom and he was fabulous! He was on time, very professional, the kids loved his music playlist and he set up and took down his equipment in a very short time. The music was already playing when the kids arrived and they danced from the they got there till the time they left.

Parker was amazing. He made extra effort to ensure all the the footage I needed was captured even if he had to spend extra time. His attention to detail goes a long way. He was great at setting up interview composition, recording clean audio, capturing drone footage, and capturing b-roll. I would most definitely hire him again!

I have worked with Flick Wiltshire on over 16 video's and many other content oriented projects over the years and here is what I know about Flick. 1. He works within established budgets and is realistic when putting a budget together. He will figure out a way to do it within budget or he will tell up front how much more the shoot is going to costs that is out of the agreed to budget and there will be no surprises. 2. He is client friendly and works to deliver the clients vision and not just his vision. 3. He under promises and over delivers in every case. 4. He is honest and an easy guy to work with! 5. He uses the best crew available within the budget to deliver the best possible product based on the ideas and creative. 6. There is no production too large or small for him to execute. LA and Nashville directors hire flick when they need to make something happen fast and He has access to the best crew's in any situation. 7. He has more knowledge of film, photography, and the art of video, and lighting than any other 5 "video directors/producers" and if you want art, efficiency, and marketing Flick can delivery whatever your needs are, but you do need to be able to communicate what your needs are! I suggest highly that you check out his work and hire him, you will not regret it! if you have any questions about him feel free to email me. dkproduction@aol.com

Oh my gosh, Jason Ward... by far THE BEST vendor we chose for our wedding this past March. Jason has such a warm/fun personality and legitimately gives his absolute best to make your event special. We found Jason on WeddingWire and decided to book him based on his reviews and price. When we met Jason he said he wanted to keep his prices low because this was something he genuinely liked to do. We echo a lot of the people on here who have wrote reviews & said that Jason's prices aren't nearly high enough -- the quality of what you get from Jason is top tier. He's a complete professional, unbelievably talented (BOTH DJ'ing & videography services) and without a doubt, excellent at his craft. Jason answered all my crazy emails very promptly, was well organized and the one vendor I had no doubt going into the day would come through. As a DJ, Jason is SO much fun. He had our entire crowd dancing the entire night (and then some... "one more song!!"), was engaged with our guests and played a great selection of music. I'm especially glad we hired Jason for videography. I really wanted to get our ceremony and misc. parts of our day on video but we didn't have videography in the budget (since most vendors start in the thousands). Jason worked with our budget and I can't believe how our video(s) have turned out so far. His turnaround time with the video was so quick and the quality is absolutely beautiful. Long story short - we couldn't be happier we went with Jason and highly recommend his services for BOTH Dj'ing & videography. A pleasure to work with! :)

Shauni and l needed a professional videographer for our youtube channel: Paranormal Southern Belles. Ted met with us the day after we contacted him, and he did HOURS worth of work for a super affordable rate. This project was time sensitive. We were wanting a quick turnaround; and that’s exactly what we got. He had our teaser video to us within 2 days; and the entire firat episode to us in less than a week. If you need a professional video for a project, wedding, business, etc... l definitely would recommend you guys go through Fleeting Fantasy Productions. :)

Choosing Beverly Boy for my production company was an easy choice. Their credentials are high, and upon researching the company their video quality is out of this world! I knew going with my gut was the right choice, as soon as I saw these guys I had to have them!

    Q & A

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

What is a videographer and what do they do?

A videographer professionally films weddings and other events and edits the footage to create film keepsakes or marketing materials for their clients. Wedding videographers record all the key elements of your wedding day, ceremony and reception, and then edit the hours of film during post-production to make a wedding video, social media highlight reels, and any other film features you choose. Wedding videography captures, in live action, your vows, the cake-cutting, the first dance, reception toasts, the decor, the guests and all the details of your day. Many wedding videographers also interview guests (based on an interview list provided by the couple) and incorporate the recorded responses into the wedding video. Event videography typically costs less than wedding videography, as events are shorter with less detail. The national average cost for event videography is $500-$760, while the national average cost for wedding videography is $990-$1,260. A videographer usually does not need to be licensed, but it is important to confirm they have insurance and good standing in the business community, as well as good client reviews. A great majority of the work happens during post-production. The pros watch and blend together the hours of footage they took (sometimes from multiple cameras) to capture the story of your wedding day or event.

How do you choose a wedding videographer?

A wedding videographer will create a lifetime memory for you from edited video footage of your wedding day, ceremony and reception. Choosing a wedding videographer starts with looking online at portfolios of their past work. There’s no need to talk to anyone unless you love what you see. Next, make sure they have good reviews and past client experience; don’t be shy about asking for references if there aren’t any posted online. When you find someone who has a style you love, ask if they are available on your wedding day. If so, it’s time to talk pricing. Be clear about your maximum budget, and ask what kind of packages they offer. Pricing will depend on the number of crew needed for filming, the hours they are required to be onsite, post-production editing, and the length of the final product. Talk with several wedding videographers to get a feel for what prices are like in your region. Nationally, the average cost for wedding videography ranges between $990 and $1,260 per event. Once you agree on a product and have a plan, get everything in a written and signed contract. Clearly state the details of what is expected for your wedding day and from the final product. Be prepared to pay a deposit to reserve their services for the day, then pay the remainder upon receiving the video.

What should you ask your wedding videographer before hiring?

Finding the perfect wedding videographer doesn’t have to be stressful. Asking a few key questions upfront will help you find the right fit for your big day. Before talking with wedding videographers, research their work online. Look at their websites, business profiles and social media, and see what their finished wedding videos look like. If the style fits what you’re envisioning, it’s time to reach out. During initial contact, make sure you get along with the person. This is important since they’ll be interacting with you and your guests.

Your first question should be about their availability; there’s no point in going further if they’re booked on your wedding day. Ask to see references if they’re not readily available online. Next, it’s time to talk about money. Ask how they determine rates or what kind of packages they offer. When you settle on a rate and the services you want, make sure to have a written contract that outlines everything, including cost, length of time they film, what post-production will include, and when you can expect to receive the edited project.

When do you pay your wedding videographer and wedding photographer?

Most wedding videographers and photographers require a set deposit when you hire them. Wedding season is a busy time and a deposit secures that vendor’s services for your wedding date. It also protects the vendor if the couple changes their mind at the last minute, and they can’t find a new booking and lose work for the day. The deposit may be anywhere from 20 percent to  50 percent of the agreed-upon total price. Always get a written confirmation that your deposit has been received.

The remainder of the wedding videography and photography bill may be due in the week before to your wedding or on the day of the wedding. Other vendors may require a second payment immediately before the wedding and a third and final payment after the wedding video or photos are delivered. Each vendor has their own policies, so before hiring be sure to read, understand and agree to payment protocols. There is no requirement for tipping wedding videographers or photographers, but if you do want to tip them, the end of the reception is the appropriate time.

How much is videography for a wedding?

Wedding videography is one thing many couples regret not paying for. It may seem like just another expense during wedding planning, but it’s really special to have a moving memory of your big day. The national average cost for wedding videography is $990-$1,260. Pricing can vary depending on wedding length, special film features, the amount of editing required, and how many videographers are needed to cover the event. Many videographers offer packages that provide different levels of service. A very simple wedding documentary could be $600 or more, while a full-scale cinematic experience involving multiple videographers could be $2,500 or more. Here’s an example of average package pricing:

    • Package 1: $1,400
      • Footage during and after the ceremony, including highlights requested by the couple.
      • Two cameras with audio equipment.
      • DVD including a 3- or 4-minute edit to a song of the couple’s choice and a 45- to 50-minute raw edit covering the entire event.
      • Recordings of guests’ good wishes to the couple.
    • Package 2: $1,800
      • Includes everything from Package 1, plus an additional videographer (2 total) and aerial videography.
Hire skilled professionals for absolutely everything.
