I have the highest recommendation for Mike who has done a variety of work for me with more to come: fixed a door, installed new kitchen cabinets, has done a variety of trim work, changed all hinges on cabinetry downstairs to hidden slow close , changed wooden raised panel cabinet front to glass inset. He is easy to communicate with, reliable, trustworthy--and even nice to my pets. A winner.

David remodeled my laundry room, which involved hanging cabinetry, installing trim, and building custom shelves to connect the cabinets. He also applied privacy film to most of my windows, which requires great patience, attention to detail, and precision. He was courteous, fairly priced, and easy to work with. He’s definitely one of the most organized, responsive handy men I’ve ever worked with—on my invoice he even included a copy of the Home Depot receipts for my project. The one downside—he does work slowly (which he’ll be the first to admit), but it’s worth it for the quality he delivers. And he bills based on what he thinks is fair for the project, not necessarily how many hours he spent on it. David is one of a kind—I highly recommend him.

I was looking for someone to install crown molding on my kitchen cabinets. I received several quotes and this was by far the most reasonable and the quality is outstanding. Brant was very helpful in letting me know where and what type of crown I should get. Additionally he was able to have my project completed quickly. I will without a doubt use him again. He was professional, clean, and personable. I look forward to having him or someone from his team complete the other projects I have as well.

What impressed me the most is that my first contact with Howard was on a weekend day. He actually pick up his phone, that act proven to me that he very hands on and value his response to his customers. Prior to hiring Faith Construction team, I've had terrible experiences with other contractors trying to renovate this two bedroom house. Hiring Faith Construction team has proven so far, to be a good decision because all the promises that Howard made to me to get the job done is coming to reality.

Rick and his staff did a fantastic job. The first job was the closet organizer in the master bedroom, it turned out so well we asked Rick to look at remodeling the master bathroom and Kitchen cabinets. we could not be more pleased with Rick and his team. Very professional, always on time and extremely easy to work with. We started out just looking at the closet organizer and finished with a whole lot more once we met with Rick and saw the quality, craftsmanship and level of detail they put into all of the projects. Thanks again Rick!!!!

Darin Beck has done several jobs for us in a very professional manner. We moved into a new home that needed to have a change of paint color. He painted a double trey ceiling of 13 feet and walls of the master bedroom. He also painted the 16 foot walls of the living room. He was very careful about keeping paint off the carpet and painted woodwork. Darin added six doors to a wall of shelves in a study matching the finish and color perfectly. He does excellent work in a timely manner and is very dependable. We would recommend him highly for any job.

Adam reinvented 2 of my tray ceilings- one to a coffered style using handmade barnwood stained beams. The MBR was filled with 'gold overlay' wood in a beautiful pattern; gorgeous cedar barnwood mantle; added barnwood beams to my MBR ceiling (fitting perfectly into existing crown molding), added floating shelves & countertop cabinetry; created builtins in my master closet-a desk area & separate wrapping center, complete with mobile sewing machine unit! And he created a beautiful sliding barnwood door into the Master bath, ordering the hardware we found together online. He also took an existing entertainment center and matched the finish perfectly creating a full wall of matching builtins in my upstairs loft. He also helped me create wooden 4' tall bride & groom figures. I use 'created' because he patiently listened, looked over countless picture ideas, and consulted with me in detail before beginning. He will work within a given budget & not over charge you! He is trustworthy (he had a key while remodeling my home), creative, precise, and actually fun to be around. He takes pride in his work. He is resourceful and dependable. And as a single woman, I felt completely safe having him in my home!

We have worked with Moore Building Solutions many times on jobs large and small. The largest job was a complete remodel of our master bedroom, sitting room, and bath (around . The Moore brothers started and finished on time, gave us an accurate bid on the project up front, and were pleasant to be around while they were working on our house. They had great relationships with subcontractors who also came and finished on time so that the whole project stayed on schedule. They are my "go-to" contractors for any job.

Wayne recently replaced a bedroom floor, installed new windows and did a bathroom remodel for us, with a new tile floor, refurbishing cabinets, changing out the fixtures and adding a beadboard to the lower halves of the walls. He had great suggestions for ways to improve the look of the bathroom. The hardwood floors look terrific and Wayne went above and beyond when he found a way to get a large closet done with the available materials, (which had not been computed to include the closet.) The windows look great and no more leaks.

    Q & A

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

    Do you tip cabinet installers?

In general, home service providers such as electricians, plumbers and contractors are professionals who don’t expect tips. They expect to do a job for you for the specific price they quoted. Of course, they may appreciate a tip for a job particularly well done or for which they’ve gone beyond what’s normally expected, such as completing the project early or under budget. Even better than a tip, it’s always appropriate to leave a positive review online after a good experience.

    How much is custom cabinetry?

Custom cabinets can be built for any room, including bedroom closets and built-in armoires. Measured carefully and built precisely, custom cabinetry can increase storage and beautify any room. The national average for building custom cabinets ranges from $500 to $1,200 per linear foot. The cost is highly variable because there are so many styles, colors, glazes and other options. In general, the linear footage of the cabinets, the materials used to build them, and the cost of the labor will determine the cost. Solid wood costs more than plywood and wood veneer, and costs vary among different types of wood; maple and cherry cabinets are more expensive than pine. Glass-front cabinets can cost more, as can decorative hinges, handles and door pulls, which can cost $2-$45 each; choose carefully to stay within your budget and pull off the exact look you’re going for. Some carpenters also charge for installation, on average $100 per cabinet box. Additional molding and trim, such as crown molding at the ceiling, cost an average of $70 per 8-foot section, and adding finished ends to exposed cabinets averages $100-$200.

How much does it cost to have kitchen cabinets installed?

In any kitchen, the cabinets are the main focus, so you want to make sure new or replacement cabinets are installed correctly. A professional carpenter can properly, securely mount new cabinets to the wall; the national average cost for this service is $7,725, although the cost varies widely depending on the type of cabinets, their material and their size, and the accessories you add. A typical fee is $70 per linear foot to remove existing cabinets and assemble and install new ones; the cost is less if you do the demolition and removal yourself. Stock cabinets are the least expensive to have installed, ranging from $75 to $400 each; semi-custom cabinets range from $150 to $900 each; and custom cabinets cost from $500 to $1,400 each. Wood cabinets are more expensive than those made from plywood or medium-density fiberboard (MDF) and finished with a laminate. Wood cabinets range in cost from $80 to $160 per linear foot. Laminate-finished cabinets cost $35 to $75 per linear foot, on average.
