My work stands out from others because of my ability to connect with the individual. Along with my lifelong musical experiences and continual drive to grow in my own personal development as a musician, for three years I worked as a behavioral therapist and with families with children with Autism. During this time I learned the importance of valuing each individual differently and applying educational skills through that.

Brian is a patient and effective teacher who incorporates innovative, challenging, and entertaining lessons in his sessions. My favorite thing about the way he teaches is how he sets both short-term and long-term goals. Having both allows me to hone in what I need to improve the most as a guitar player while also giving me something more to work towards. Brian gives great feedback on what a player's strengths and weaknesses are, and in addition, takes it a step further by creating a practice schedule, which really kept me on track. He also really listens to what the student wants to accomplish, which I appreciate.
Thanks to Brian, I'm a lot more confident in my ability to keep improving!

Bryan had a clear desire to share his passion of music in encouraging my playing in very practical ways. In just a few short minutes of meeting, hearing me play, explaining where I was at, Bryan was able to select helpful and attainable goals for our next session. These goals were based on what I wanted to get out of our time together. He was able to teach me very practical ways to practice to attain the goals and left me with some more challenging food for thought that kept me reaching for the next level.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
My typical process involves goal setting and orienting a lesson around an ideal practice session. I work mainly with beginner and intermediate players, so I assess what musical aspects we'll need to focus on (chord knowledge, rhythm, theory, new songs etc) and then I'll address specific materials to learn/practice before the next lesson. Through this we'll apply these practice points to what overall goals the student may have, whether that be to learn and play songs with friends, to perform, or to be creative and write songs etc.

Involvement in musical experiences majority of life (school band, live bands, studio work, music videos, original music and privately studied under professional musicians)
How did you get started doing this type of work?
I'm always trying to discover new ways to use my musical gifts professionally and experientially. Giving lessons was a natural next step for me.
