Mj Douglas Contractor is by far the best I’ve found in Nashville. I recently had to to gut my whole house due to a sewer back up and a poor inspector. Douglas came to the rescue. Because of all the water damage and mold issues we decided to pretty much redo the whole house. First off, his prices are more than fair (half or more than half less than all the imposters in Nashville), and he takes real pride in his work. He doesn’t take short cuts like I’ve seen others do. He is extremely skilled and so are his subcontractors. I am born and raised in LA with a family in the construction business, I know what things should cost…this man is super fair. He knew how badly we needed to move home, so he made it his mission to get the work done quick. He put in new subfloors, custom sinks, walk in showers and new plumbing and electrical in every bathroom. He put in a whole new kitchen… new cabinets, subfloor, tile, plumbing, electrical, lighting, custom island etc. He also redid the whole foundation to our bonus room which he beautifully turned into two room. He put in 2 jacks under the house aswell. He and his crew worked at lightening speed SEVEN DAYS A WEEK!! In less than a month and a half we have a beautiful remodeled home that we can be in for a long long time. These bad reviews make me laugh because this guy is the best in the business, out here. Don’t look at anyone else.

The initial consultation and conversation between Douglas and I was decent. I told him what I expected, and he promised to deliver. Chile, when I say that was all a BiG lie. First, he has me under the impression that he was the one responsible for the work being done. NO! He's a subcontractor. He hires men( family and friends) to do the hands-on work. The second issue is that before hiring him and giving him the deposit, he said the job would take 1-3 days. Only for it to turn into a 6 day job. Third, the issue was that his workers put a hole in my bedroom wall, and the renovation was happening in the bathroom. When I brought it to Douglas' attention, he got real HUFFY about it. So, that's when I got my husband involved in the project. Douglas also became upset because I asked him to paint over the hole in my bedroom and not leave a white patch on my walls. I also had to buy the paint and all my supplies. The fourth issue I have with Douglas is that he doesn't seem to understand that there's a limit on the amount you can Zelle a person per day... due to his confusion, he called and harassed me for two days, threatening to sue me. The list goes on and on, but if what I've listed above doesn't make you RUN, then you, I guess you believe in chance. Oh, last thing. I went to take a shower, and my nozzle shot off! The paint job is horrible. Makes me sad we paid the amount of money we did.
