FAQs
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
After an initial phone call, an appointment will be set for us to meet. During that appointment at the home, we will walk through the project and discuss the finer details. Measurements will be made so that an more accurate quote can be made. After meeting, we will put together a list of materials and the estimated man hours it will take to complete the project. The customer will then receive a quote for the job which they will sign, When the customer accepts the quote, a date will be scheduled to begin work. If there are special noise restrictions or other details being imposed by the HOA, please tell Ed or his representative at this time. Each job is different. Therefore, some projects require a deposit equal to 1/3 to 1/2 of the total quote. Once the initial payment has been received, work will begin.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
At 16, I was working roofs with my father's construction company. At 19, I moved to Colorado where my mother was a Realtor and I began working on her projects. Most of those projects were partial to complete renovations of Victorians in the Colorado Springs area. That work lead me to starting my own handyman/painting service and business was great. I've contracted out to new home builders as well as private individuals. When Hurricane Rita hit Texas, my home state, I rejoined my father's construction company and worked on the damage that helped people put their lives back together. Since then, I have worked on government contracts, home builders, as well as a home maintenance company. I am familiar with the last 125 years of architecture because I've seen the bones.
