- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I begin by giving customers a basic price, based upon the number of servings they need. After that, depending upon how they would like the cake to be decorated, I add additional cost based upon how expensive the ingredients are ( if they're something very unique) and how time consuming the decorating process will be.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I try to respond promptly with some basic information, and set up an in-person cake tasting. I feel it is better to meet in person as soon as possible.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a Bachelor's in Baking and Pastry Arts from Johnson and Wales University, and I also really enjoy researching the latest online videos about cake decorating techniques. I was at DC coast restaurant, Art and Soul, and PS7's before stepping out of restaurants to work on other projects.
