Choosing Harry Stein to repair my computer was one of the best decisions I've ever made! I discovered Harry approximately three weeks ago after someone from another company had supposedly fixed it which turned out not to be true; forcing me to find another computer technology service person. Upon contacting Thumbtack, I received numerous messages and quotes from computer technicians, including Harry Stein, who, by the way, was one of the very first to contact me. After listening to his voicemail message, I felt quite certain that he was the one I wanted to work on my computer. I got the feeling that he was someone I could trust and that he was very experienced and knowledgeable about all things pertaining to computers. A conversation followed which confirmed my instincts, and I was right! Harry's knowledge, experience, professionalism, and communication skills amazed me! He remotely took control of my computer and started making changes that were effective immediately. He was extremely fast, focused, accurate, thorough, and very detailed. Harry changed settings; added and deleted apps and programs as necessary, and explained reasons for doing so as he went along; educating me more than anyone else ever had. It was an exciting process for me to see all the improvements before my very eyes. As he continued working, my computer got better and better and I was able to get stations and channels that I wasn't able to log into previously. Throughout my years in business I've had several "computer geeks" tend to my computer who I thought were the best, but Harry Stein out-shined them all! I cannot imagine finding anyone who can compare to him! Harry is definitely a computer wizard in all aspects! This review wouldn't be fully complete without mentioning costs and fees, which were another thing that shocked me about my experience with Harry! He quoted me a fee of $75.00 and stuck to it without even a hint of asking for more. He mentioned that he really doesn't do this for the money, but more-so for the joy and gratification he gets from helping people just like me who are frazzled and frustrated with nowhere to turn for assistance. With his qualifications, time spent, fantastic work he did, and the manner in which he performed, he could have justifiably charged several hundred dollars and deserved every bit of it. I can't say enough about how pleased I am with the performance of my computer - thanks to Harry Stein! I can only promise you that when you hire him to fix your computer, you'll be very glad you did!

Jeremy was phenomenal throughout the entire process. Although he never touted it, I now understand and am recipient of, the fruits of his efforts in getting a BA in IT with a concentration in Networking, GPA 3.56/4.0 and a Masters in Information Systems, IT, from the University of Phoenix, along with a variety of licences. Jeremy took great strides to understand my computer issues, running many tests from beginning to end, reflecting his need, not to mention desire for, accuracy and to find the best solution. In addition, he questioned if I had any photos or important material on my computer I wished to save first should there be any loss; he had a large external drive in his car he wished to transfer the material to for fear of losing it. This confirmed that he was not only proactive, but he knew how to connect the dots, a skill not always predetermined from birth. There were a few technicians before Jeremy that I paid through companies I was affiliated with, all ultimately doing the same thing, and my computer kept failing every few months. I said nothing to Jeremy about what they did; that said, Jeremy came back with something different. He said one of my drives was out of commission (I had a dual drive, and I knew this), but the other was going bad and I needed a new one. He requested he take my machine, find a good price on a dual drive, and get it to me soon. The following day he contacted me with a very good price for one solid state drive, told me he could set up the bad one for storage, gave me a wonderful price for labor after all the time spent on my computer and had it to me that day. Bottom line, Jeremy was intuitive, honest, intelligent, extremely personable, professional, knowledgeable and patient. Further, he kept in contact. The end result was that my computer was completely restored, faster than before, at a great price, the work was completed expeditiously and as an extra bonus my laptop was returned cleaned and looking brand new. John took my computer while I was away on vacation with family. He continually contacted me when there was a question or concern and kept me updated, daily as the progress continued. Initially, I had taken my laptop to Fry's and was confused by all of the problems they said I had. While at Fry's I met John, who was a customer, and he asked me what the problem was with my laptop. He indicated that, if I went with Fry's quote, I needed to ensure that they did not charge me for another copy of Windows 7 because it was already installed on my laptop and could be reinstalled after fixing or replacing the hard drive. He gave me his phone number and I decided to call him to discuss this when I got home. I called John and he asked me a lot of questions about the laptop and came to the conclusion that the problem was less serious than was described. He indicated that he could take a look at the laptop and run several programs to assess it's issues. I took the laptop to him and over the period of a week found that the original assessment of 'replacing the hard drive,' purchasing and reinstalling Windows 7 and buying another copy of Microsoft Office was false and he would start working on the fix that very day. He called me for permission to buy 'recovery dvd's from Gateway to ensure that the correct software would be installed with the proper drivers, etc. He indicated that the major problem with the laptop was that it had been used and not 'optimized' for so many years that the software had become corrupted with conflict of drivers, etc. By the time I got home the following week, he had diagnosed the entire laptop, performed a COMPLETE backup of my entire laptop files and re-installed the laptop to Gateway factory specifications, all without charging me any additional fee. Most of what was done did not require me to pay for more software or hardware. John knew what he was doing and my laptop is working better than when it was delivered, brand new. The hard drive did not need to be replaced and I was ecstatic about the work he performed. I can honestly say that he saved me over $250 in repairs that were unneeded and my laptop has never worked better or faster. I will certainly call him again, if the need arises. I appreciated his patience and efforts with this technically challenged individual!!!! Thanks to Experimac, I was lucky to receive some trade in value on my broken Macbook Pro, along with a few other item (old Macbook & Iphone) and was able to get a brand new computer for about what a repair would have costs me. they were patient, polite, informative, & really interesting in fulfilling client needs!

I was impressed by Matthew Edwards ability to communicate clearly and sustinctly. He stated his price, availability, and plan of action. Then he performed as promised. He showed up very promptly and worked diligently. He tried every thing he could think of to get my old computer to open up. He explained how computers get too full and start doing weird things. Nothing worked. He then asked if he could take it to his lab and see if there was anything else that could be done. The next day he said he had tried, but the problem seemed to be in the motherboard; and to fix it would cost more than a new computer. So, I asked if he could help me find a replacement, and he did. While his suggested computer looked OK, I spent some time trying to check out other options. None looked better, so I bought the one he suggested. Matthew gave me very professional help, spent extra time trying to get the old one working, and was pleasant and professional. I would gladly use him again and recommend him to others. Adam came to my house to fix my laptop which is heating frequently. He cleaned the fan vent and he applied the thermal paste and my laptop is now running smoothly and got a second life. His skills are top notch and I recommend for any pc laptop computer repairs. His rates are very reasonable and he comes to the place to do the repair.

Daniel was very knowledgeable about computers. We recently had to replace all of our business computers. He arrived on time was very efficient and helped us in every way. He was able to set all the new computers up, transferring all of our old information and linking all 5 computers. Very polite and answered all of our questions. We had a few more small things we needed done and after calling him he was able to respond within minutes. He logged in from a remote and fixed any other minor adjustments needed. We found it to be very helpful to keep our business running and no need to shut down nor wait on a tech to make these repairs. He advised us on any additional things that would help our system run faster while on site. He managed to even bring programs over to our new system that are not supported on the newer windows but it allowed us to keep our data in one location for anything we need. I really enjoyed working with Daniel and can say if I had to replace or repair any of our computers I would call on him again. We currently have even called on Daniel to set up our Iphones to match our office computers. Very time efficient for our company.

I repair computers and laptops. I reconfigure the OS if needed. I also do scanning for viruses and installing virus protection as needed. The best thing is that you can wait or leave it with me and never have a hidden cost on the work.
