Sorry this pro can’t do your job, but we know other pros who can.
Introduction: Most window companies are Big Box stores or marketing companies. They have large overhead in buildings, employees, commissions, advertising etc. Somebody has to pay for that. We concentrate on the installation and supply the customer with the window or door they want at wholesale cost. We don't advertise on Radio, TV, Telemarketing, Billboards. We have no sales commissions or large buildings, and our best form of advertising is referrals from satisfied customers. We have over 100 years of combined experience in the home improvement industry here in the DFW metroplex and I am the owner and installer. I meet with the customer and explain the process and then I complete the process personally with my equally experienced partners. The product, service, warranty is just as good if not better than the expensive companies. When I am completed with the job the customer is always satisfied that they received a quality product and installation along with saving hundreds, if not thousands, of dollars. They always want to refer me, and because of the savings, there is never "Buyer's Remorse"

I asked Tom for a window replacement quote for broken thermal seals and to see samples of window products that he offered. Tom is a no pressure salesman in fact the window samples he showed me sold themselves to me. The Simonton Windows are a great quality window. So Tom has replaced my 4 bedroom and 2 kitchen windows with the new Simonton vinyl double hung low E windows with the full screen. They look beautiful inside and out. They have reduced the outside noise and heat/cold temperature exchange. Then he replaced the glass units in my game room using the existing frames that face the street in an HOA. A top notch quality job again. I highly recommend Home Gear Installations for all your window needs if you are looking for value and quality.

Having recently purchased a house a significant proportion of the double glazed units had failed. Whilst an allowance had been agredd with the owner for replacements of the failed units only this work was left with us to undertake. The original units were plain glass with low thermal efficiency. Having had the original repair quote we set out to find a better solution which was provided by Tom. This resulted in us replacing all the windows in the main residence with thermal efficient glass units for a 30% premium over the original repair only quote. At the same time enough units were saved to bring the garage units up to the original standard. The installation was carried out in a single day in a clean and professional manner greatly enhancing the look of the property and the efficiency of the air conditioning which should pay back the small increase in price. We highly recommend Tom and his team

Tom at Home Gear Installations did a fantastic job from start to finish on our project. He replaced most of the windows in our house. He was on time, and you could not tell we had our windows replaced it was as if he was not there. Windows work fantastic and look even better. We recommend Tom and Home Gear Installations and the quality of work they do.

FAQs

  • How did you get started doing this type of work?

I have been in this industry for 30years. I started out framing houses while I was in college. Then I moved into marketing for a home improvement company. My father and I started a home improvement company in 1989 and built it up with a lot of overhead, in marketing. My father got sick and passed away in 2005. I downsized and changed the way I did business and started Home Gear in 2007.

  • What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?

Take your time. Don't be rushed into making a decision today by a company that is trying to tell you they can only give you a discount if you make that decision now. They are trying to play on the natural emotion of "The Fear of loss is greater than the desire for gain"
