Goals
Sorry this pro can’t do your job, but we know other pros who can.
Introduction: A solid understanding of biomechanics, an extensive repertoire of training programs with focuses ranging from functional fitness to corrective exercise and a genuine desire to build relationships... Do you think your next personal trainer should possess these qualities? I think so, but those are not enough in my opinion. I believe that in an age overwhelmed by wellness-related resources yet plagued with poor health, there must be a gap between what the fitness industry is... and what it should be. By providing each client multiple, customized avenues of support, meaningful connections to the wellness community and prime access to a wealth of relevant knowledge, I hope to bridge that gap. Join me in discovering your own meaningful path to not just wellness, but wellness you can sustain. I will guide you in your path to sustainable wellness by incorporating one or several of the following: -Preliminary consultation and regular progress evaluations -Loyalty and achievement recognition programs -Informative newsletters and access to a useful online client portal -Corrective exercise regimens and/or post injury rehabilitation programs -Personalized wellness plans for those training to stay healthy, increase athletic performance, and/or lose weight All personalized wellness plans are goal oriented, with focuses including (but are not limited to): -Controlling stress -Establishing functional strength -Losing weight and/or gaining muscle -Acquiring general fitness competences -Enhancing sport-specific skills You will be in good hands when we train, my professional qualifications include: -B.S. in Kinesiology: Health Promotion and Fitness from the University of Texas at Austin -ACE Certified Personal Trainer (CPT) -NASM Corrective Exercise Specialist (CES) -CPR/AED Certified

I am in my late 40s, and have been training with different personal trainers over the last 10 years. I have trained with Michael Siler for almost a year now, and I am very impressed with his academic knowledge and personal skills in physical training. We agreed on specific goals, such as body weight and physical ability, and our workouts consistently address these issues each week. Since I bore easily from the same routine, he keeps them varied and challenging. Michael also has a gregarious personality, which helps to make the hour go by quickly. I always finish each session exhausted and glad that I came. Highly recommend him!

FAQs

  • What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

Definitely! It would be a huge disservice to my clients if I didn't. I enjoy reading articles from each month’s IDEA Fitness Journal in addition to following various reputable fitness/health/wellness-related blogs. This past year I also studied for and passed the exam to become a NASM Corrective Exercise Specialist. In my opinion, it was the perfect complement to the personal trainer certification I had through the American Council on Exercise. It’s assisted me in providing an excellent, research based approach to helping people suffering from various aches and pains due to lifestyle choices (e.g. sitting at a desk all day, travelling for work, etc.).
