Introduction: My career began in Memphis, Tennessee, at Easley-McCain Recording. I credit most of my studio education to Doug Easley and Davis McCain as I learned the relaxed, supportive recording style known in Memphis as a mix of hands-on production balanced by open, creative interaction with musicians. I began as an intern and became the studio manager during my seven years in Memphis. I worked with notable local bands The Grifters, Reigning Sound, Big Ass Truck and The Oblivians and out-of-town bands The White Stripes, Rocket From the Crypt, The Spinanes, Jets to Brazil, The Promise Ring among others. In 2002, I moved to Dallas, Texas and began freelancing in studios in Texas, across the United States, Canada and the UK. In 2007, I bought a 1940's storefront building in the Oak Cliff area of Dallas. I designed and built the studio, Elmwood Recording. In 2012, I moved to Austin, Texas, where I recently finished building a mixing studio. My latest projects include producing the newest releases from The Baptist Generals, Black Joe Lewis and engineering songs for Polyphonic Spree and East Cameron Folklore. Over the last few years, I've been fortunate to win a Grammy for mixing Loretta Lynn's Van Lear Rose, to work with Cat Power on The Greatest and Jukebox, Modest Mouse's Good News for People who Love Bad News, The Walkmen's Bows and Arrows, Phosphoresent's Here's To Taking It Easy and Riverboat Gamblers' Smash Grab and The Wolf You Feed.
