Introduction: I have some openings certain days between 10:00 am-4:00 pm. I am also available on weekends. For some clients, some sessions may be accomplished via internet, texts, and email. When I first started my training business, I didn't realize that some people would be my clients of fitness/nutrition/health services for a long time. Some clients have been with me for 5, 4, 3, and 2 years. Therefore, I do not have many open slots for additional clients. If you are interested in my services, please ask me about available times; I can send you my current fee schedule. I have earned highly-ranked certifications. From observing gym members (and sometimes trainers), there is much needed correction/instruction of exercise technique. My fees are reasonable compared to many trainers. I am very patient and create programs specific for each client. I have extensive knowledge in "teaching" fitness and exercise science as a result of my highly-ranked fitness certifications and years in education. I keep abreast of current exercise science research, i.e., I know which exercises/technique --(that were ok years ago)---should not be used any longer. Research changes & fitness professionals need to know about the latest research. Every week, in any gym, I see incorrect exercises performed by many people. I also see trainers teaching incorrect/potentially unsafe exercises for their clients...and I think "they should know not to do that." Also, regarding nutrition and weight loss, you will not lose a lot of weight with exercise alone (as many people believe). I love it when a client sees progress and "feels better" as a result of proper nutrition and habitual exercise. Many people do not realize how exercise & lifestyle changes positively affect their health.

Private Pilates Instruction

Ralph is very knowledgeable, reliable and affordable - and a really nice person. I have found him to be especially respectful and sensitive to my capacities as an older woman with some physical challenges.

Personal Training

I hired Ralph for the goal of gaining some weight and learning the tips of not injuring myself while training. Ralph's training started with a information/Starbucks session to understand you goals, your body and shares his training method. During the trainings, Ralph always comes prepared on time, with list of exercises tailored for you. He teaches you the drills and answers questions before actually doing a particular exercise. He also shares free tips and research papers from time to time that pertain to training, keeping the right posture at work and diets. At this moment my Chinese martial arts training demands most of my training time. I would use Ralph's help again when needed in the future. I would also recommend you to have a try!

  • What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

Not complicated. It's on my website: ralph.fitness but I often offer discounts. Clients need to ask what discounts are available. I also send to prospective clients my fee schedule via the Thumbtack site.

  • What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

I need to discuss ( in relation to health/exercises) where they have been, where they are now & where they want to be. After a consultation, I decide if a physician needs to be contacted for clearance, and then I create a program specifically for that client.

  • What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

Numerous certifications from the top certifying organizations. Not only do I keep my certifications current---as I should--but I also attend seminars every year and do a lot of exercise science research on my own.
