Rekha is a talented piano teacher and loves to teach kids. My boys enjoyed learning from her. She taught them for couple of years. Rekha is patient, friendly and cares about her students. She is knowledgeable. I highly recommend her.

My 4.25 year old daughter started her pianolessons with Rekha! She was her first teacher!!
She was amazing, such a great teacher! What they accomplished together made me so so proud. With her guidance my daughter started composing at a very young age. Thanks so much to Rekha for always keeping my daughter's motivation levels high. Highly Recommend her!!!

My 7yr looks forward to Ms Rekha's classes every week. She is very patient with kids and makes lessons fun for them. She adapts her lessons according to kids liking instead of following a standard syllabus. Every class is followed up with a text summarizing the lesson learnt and list of pieces to practice, which we greatly appreciate. My daughter loves her. Thank you Ms Rekha!

My 6-year old daughter has been learning from Ms. Rekha for about 2 years now and she makes it so much fun for her. She took extra effort to make her understand and learn new pieces during the online classes last year.

Rekha has the skills to be able to connect with kids, to have a good rapport with them. My daughter was responsive to her questions, seemed like she was comfortable answering her questions. However, we found that her online teaching for beginner piano was not very effective and really took time out (that I didn’t have as flexible), where I too had to set up the camera to Rekhas requirements, sit during the lesson so I can show her, so we decided to ask her to record the sessions so my daughter could watch to learn seemed like a legal hoop we had to jump through, truly a waste of time and an inconvenience. Logically, it would make sense for beginners to record these online sessions so they can watch and learn. I would advise future customers and current customers to establish a contract with her that clearly lays out issues such as recordings, costs, times, what happens in case of missed classes (when my daughter had to miss her class due to family emergency, her response was she’s very busy and didn’t explicitly offer an alternative option until I asked about the options…). Why am I paying someone to teach my daughter without the proper tools necessary to increase her ability to learn online? Doesn’t make logical sense on our end. We decided not to continue with her as we found the overall experience to be difficult.

Nisha I appreciate your perspective but mine is quite different. You had signed up for parent-child lessons in April/May. These are busy academic months but I did accommodate your many requests and changing monthly work schedule.
Unfortunately, the reality is, you were unable to fully participate in lessons as a student because you were more focused on re-teaching your child during the lesson! You were neither patient nor flexible to allow your daughter to learn at her pace and this was frustrating for her. Look at the recorded sessions for reference.
It’s sad that you were not able to relax or have fun during piano lessons and instead treated it like a highly structured academic classroom. This is precisely why I wouldn’t encourage parents to record music sessions.
Music involves creative expression which cannot happen spontaneously in any controlled situation.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Teacher will setup an introductory meeting session to learn about the students goals and to answer questions.
The session is about 20 minutes online (no charge). Trial lesson is included if students have a piano or digital keyboard.
