Introduction: I am a board-certified music therapist. In providing music and sound therapy as an alternative method of healing, I have an excellent foundation of practice as I received my Master's degree in music therapy from Colorado State University. I have worked with many different populations of people with varying needs. I use live music interventions, using therapeutic instruments such as the harp. My interventions are based in research of how music and sound benefit the nervous system, body and mind. Music and sound are very powerful therapeutic tools and recognition of this in the fields of psychology and medicine are greatly increasing. I am excited to be a music therapist during this rise of awareness of the health benefits of music therapy interventions. I am fascinated by the effects of sound and vibration on the human body, nervous system and energy. And I enjoy very much seeing the positive changes I witness in my clients after they complete a music therapy intervention.

My experience with Mind Body Music was great since the therapy helped a lot for relaxation and relieving a migraine. I´ve been taking this sessions and every time is better because Andrea provides new holistic treatments and instruments. I love it! Besides that, she tends in English ans Spanish.

I have attended several singing bowls sessions with Andrea over the years. As with any meditation, each session gets better as I am more able to let myself be immersed in the energy of the vibrations of the bowls. Andrea plays the bowls beautifully. I would describe my latest session as a feeling of floating in a blissful sea of liquid sound. Even sounds from outside the building no longer distract and blend in to become part of the experience, making each experience unique. I leave the sessions fully relaxed with a feeling of harmony between me and world. It may take a few sessions to get there, but it is well worth it!

Her various remedies provide great ailments for all kinds of conditions. She cures in a way that I have not seen in any other practitioner. I recommend Andrea to everyone!

FAQs

  • What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

In the initial therapy session I will ask the client questions to get a better understanding of the client's needs and goals. I use this information to know which would be the best music intervention for the client. The client can expect to experience live music with either harp or Tibetan singing bowls. I discuss with the client what to expect during the experience and we verbally process the experience afterwards.

  • What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

My training was in neurologic music therapy at Colorado State University where I received my Master's degree. I have studied the effects of music and sound on the brain, body and mind. As a board certified music therapist I am required to take continuing education courses related to music therapy and further my knowledge for clinical practice.

  • What types of customers have you worked with?

I have worked with client with stroke, brain injury, cancer, depression, anxiety, stress and physical ailments.
