Eugene was my wedding photographer. After meet so many others photographers I think that he is the best one that I could ever had, as a professional and as a person. He found out how to make me smile, I'm so shy that I thought "It's gonna be tough", I saw all his photos and the bride always looks like a model! "I'm gonna ruin the photo shoot" I said. Well It didn't happened, I felt super comfortable, I was very happy that everything went so natural. And the results... Outstanding! I think he has a gift. He captures genuine emotions with his camera not just people. Btw I consider him as a friend now, and I'm sure that you will too. If you want to be sure that the best day of your life is going to be safe for the memories and the future... Hire him, you won't regret.

My experience with Wolf was nothing short of outstanding. We brainstormed ideas and the concept of the shoot. He helped me execute the concept flawlessly and was very professional. I would definitely book another shoot with him again.

I needed a book cover designed, thought I might do it myself, got discouraged, decided to get something more professional than what I had come up with . . . then I found Zarina--the old word-of-mouth method. What a life-saver! Or should I say book-saver?! I was able to give her an idea of what I had in mind, just in broad strokes, and she came up with something that went beyond even what I had envisioned. And I'm a pretty good envisioner. The cover is beautiful, perfectly conveys what I wanted. Timely, thorough, competent, great personality––working with Zarina was a pleasure and the book is to be published soon.

Faye edited several short books for me. The feedback she offered on these three books helped me write more cohesive - concise - stories. Her suggestions will aid me in developing future projects.

Nathan Colbert, photographer - Is much more concerned about quality than nickel-and-dime-ing like a lot of photographers. He came to our wedding and we were running late, so we did not get a chance for posing - but Nathan got a great number of candid photographs. He produced a quality book and gave us access to a website with all the candid shots. Everything was terrific quality at a very reasonable price. Dan and Loren

Jo led the way when I hired him to create a logo for my ice cream truck. He filtered through all my direction and designed an increadible logo that get compliments every time we roll. Jo also led the way with trouble shooting website issues, email issues and continues to be an invaluable resource for my small business. His follow through is excellent and it obvious he's a hard worker, as there were many time I received emails late at night and early in the morning. He delivered on his promises and that just makes everything easier. The only negative thing I have to say is about how far away we live from each other, but that's no ones fault and most e-marketing business is done via phone and email so our distance was not a hinderance to the creative process. Lastly, I really appreciate that Jo can go beyond his comfort zone design wise, because what I wanted he had yet to design but he went with it and took my direction well. Book em!

This was our first engagement with 5 Point Ventures. The assignment was to research and write a 3000 word article on custom software development that was published on the espressomoon.com blog in Aug. 2017. Brent did an excellent job, for a fair price, and on time. He was great to work with and we look forward to working with him in the future.

Passionvine Creative, offers exemplary service with a flair for creativity.  They listen and understand your project requirements but help you reach beyond your vision to create a unique product to stand out in the crowded marketplace.  They understood my concept for a book cover and developed cover art as an extension of the story.  The final product kept my original elements but their creative perspective enhanced the final design.   I am very pleased with the direction they chose for the cover and recommend their skills at formatting a fiction manuscript in both print and digital versions.  Mike Sovelius "Beyond the Goat Trails"

We booked Holly to shoot the Senior high school photos for our two youngest children along with my my college shoot. She also designed all of our graduation announcements. Holly is very easy to work with; willing to go anywhere her client desires for a shoot, and is flexible with her scheduling. She has a great eye for not only photography, but design too. She put all three of us at ease during our shoots and worked hard to make sure we ended up with photos we would love. Our custom made announcements received many compliments from friends and family and are still proudly displayed in many of their homes. She met all of her promised deadlines and delivered a product that exceeded our expectations. My only regret is that we did not know about Holly when our oldest child graduated so she did not get to do his shoot or design his announcements. My daughter has already said she wants to book Holly for her college graduation shoot next year.

Suzanne is a creative and talented freelance illustrator. We were brought together through a web browser search but the relationship has grown to a collaborative partnership at its finest. While it is one thing to be an excellent artist, it is another to understand and interpret the voice of the client (author)—and Suzanne has done both for my book project. From the very first written description I sent to Suzanne, she “heard my innermost humorous voice!” She was successful in translating my brief description on the first iteration. Suzanne has sense created and delivered 24 high-quality and hilarious illustrations, which have exceeded my expectations. During the creative process she quickly made minor edits and continuously collaborated with me until each illustrations was to my satisfaction. Suzanne even provided creative suggestions to strength the subtleness of several of my illustrations. The work that Suzanne has done for me is noteworthy and I am proud to have had the opportunity to work with professional of her caliber, skills, and talent. I would recommended Suzanne for any future projects without hesitation and plan to continue our working relationship well into the future. Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

How do you hire a good grant writer?

Grants are available to nonprofit organizations, for-profit businesses that qualify for government grants, and individuals who qualify for foundation or government grants. Hiring a good grant writer can help you gain funding in your chosen field. According to the American Grant Writers’ Association, grant writers can help you research potential grant opportunities; write grant proposals, create budgets, and build budget narratives; review written materials before you submit; prepare a business plan; analyze your organization for grant competitive qualities; prepare research grants; help with 501(c)(3) applications for nonprofits; and more. Investing in the right grant writer could result in a financial win for your organization. Generally no licenses or certificates are required to be a good grant writer, but you may want to find a grant writer who has been certified (not just received a certificate of completion) by a reputable organization such as the Grant Professionals Certification Institute. Qualities to look for in a good grant writer include:

        • Proven success writing winning grants, especially in your target area.
        • Strong writing skills.
        • Strong math skills and demonstrated proficiency with budgeting.
        • Careful attention to detail — brilliant grant proposals may be rejected just for formatting errors, so you want someone who follows instructions explicitly.
        • Expertise in your target area.
        • Punctuality and good communication skills.

How much does a grant writer cost?

Hiring a grant writer can give you a competitive edge when applying for financial grants for your business or nonprofit organization, or as an individual. The cost to hire a grant writer can vary depending on their academic background, areas of expertise, previous grant writing success and years of experience. According to the Grant Professionals Association, grant writers should be paid hourly or by flat fee. It is unethical for a grant writer to accept a commission or percentage compensation of grant monies received. They can, however, be awarded bonuses in line with the hiring company’s prevailing practices. Here are some examples of average grant writing fees:

        • Hourly rate for grant writers with less experience or fewer grants awarded: $25-$35 per hour.
        • Hourly rate for grant writers with some degree of success: $35-$75 per hour.
        • Hourly rate for grant writers with proven success winning large grants: $75-$150 or more per hour.
        • For a smaller grant, the writer may charge a flat fee of $200-$500 for preparation and submission.

Pricing may also vary based on the complexity of the grant application. A federal grant that requires pages of research, budgets and a business plan may take more than 30 hours to prepare. For a high-level grant writer who charges $100 per hour, this means $3,000 or more in grant writing fees.

Most grant writers will provide you with a total cost estimate before agreeing to the work. You may be required to pay a deposit up front, or the grant writer may work from a retainer. Often, seasoned grant writers pay for themselves in the long run by writing successful grants.

Hire skilled professionals for absolutely everything.
