Honey Do installed a garage door opener at a rental property. I would use their services again for other projects that come up.
Greg has completed three jobs for me: repairs on front porch, fixes on outdoor steps and reconstruction of a door on an outdoor storage shed. I'm very pleased with his work. He is on time, communicates well, is flexible, fair in his pricing and does quality work. He's great at innovating and tailoring the job to my specific needs. I will look to hire Greg again when I need a trustworthy person to do a project and do it well. I feel I can count on Greg.
Tim responded to my request to install a pet door within minutes. He quoted me a very reasonable price and installed the door within 24 hours of me submitting my request! I would highly recommend Tim to anyone!
Went great, Angel came up with a creative solution to repair my front door. I will use him in the future and recommend his services
Removed front door, replace brick molding and trim, rebuilt frame, installed and adjusted door. Quality work. Very pleased.
Fixing a door that was catching on the floor as it was opening. They explained the problems carefully, talked me through what could be done to fix, and what wouldn't work. We agreed on what to do and they solved the problem accordingly - and for a fair price.
Rene and his crew did a great job! They removed and replaced the attic access door in our garage. The one we had ordered was actually the wrong size and they took care of finding the correct one and helping with the exchange. Rene went above and beyond by sealing up some additional cracks in our garage ceiling as well as repairing the ceiling where it was damaged from the previous door trim. Communication, quality of the work and cleanliness of the work area after they left were all great. I will definitely call Rene and his crew again the next time we need some work done.
What can I say about Bud? Not only is he an outstanding handyman, he's a man of his word and has become a friend after all the work I had him do at my house I bought about six months ago. First off, I was just looking for someone to install a custom fence in my front yard. I wanted mid-century breeze blocks to make columns for the fence and he helped with the design with the number that we had to work with and figured out what kind of paint we needed to get the color correct, as the brick was just absorbing the color and it wasn't turning out at all what it was supposed to be, but he figured it out, using a different type of paint, to achieve the correct color! It is a very nice, high-end-looking fence now. I am extremely pleased and get tons of compliments on it! He knew exactly what he was doing and the fence not only looks fantastic, but it is sturdy and excellent quality! He also did all the painting of the rooms I wanted painted in my house and did a beautiful job of painting my kitchen cabinets a gorgeous mint green color! He also installed my beautiful chrome mid-century hardware on the cabinets, too. He painted my fireplace and installed beautiful, funky mod-looking tiles in front of the fireplace, which when the people flipped the house before I moved in, they put the hardwood floors all the way to the edge of the fireplace, which was a fire hazard. So, I found these tiles at Ikea and he and I lined them up in the design and pattern that we wanted and I got to pick out the grout color I thought looked best, too. Once again, quality work from Bud!! We also did some accent paint colors on the exterior of my home, some of which were his idea, and that turned out beautifully, too. I purchased a very cool mid-century door with 3 diamond-shaped reeded windows going down the center and starburst doorknob and he installed the door perfectly and painted it also. I'm very pleased with it. He installed a few rain gutters in the front and back of house and custom painted those to match trim. I'm also very pleased with those. He also shared with me that he made a cage in another person's garage and a kitty door for the cats to have their litter boxes in the garage. I thought that was a brilliant idea and had him build one for me. It turned out really pretty, too, as we used turquoise for the wood color for the sides and the wood lid. He used galvanized steel for the pin and it is very sturdy. Bud worked quickly and efficiently and always showed up when he said he was going to. He even developed a relationship with my dog, two kittens, and cat! He was always talking to them while he was working and sometimes they would get in his way, but that didn't bother him, as he is an animal lover! I highly recommend him to anyone needing any kind of handyman work. I'll use him again and again and am so happy I found someone like Bud. It's just amazing that I was looking for someone to build a custom fence and I got someone who could do everything I needed! Don't hesitate to use Bud!
We worked with Greg Vasquez who refinished our sun bleached wood and leaded glass front door. Greg did a fantastic job for a very reasonable price. We have already recommended him to our neighbors and would definitely recommend him to other Thumbtack customers. Greg came to our home to look at the door before providing a specific quote, he arrived when we expected him and did an excellent job over several days without having to remove our door. He kept in contact with use during the process and would not accept payment until the job was done and we were fully satisfied. Greg is a professional with experience and expertise and we very much appreciate finding him through Thumbtack. We will call on him again if needed in the future.
We got in touch with Aaron for interior painting needs in Killeen. Not only did he do an excellent job on the paint, but he also drilled dead-bolt and peephole holes in two doors and installed door hardware with expert skill. He's also a great carpenter. We had a kitchen panel chewed up from a previous pet, and I was hoping he could do this as an add-on. He replaced the entire panel, trim, and kick-board and found a stain that matched the kitchen perfectly. Parts and labor on this for around $40! Plus he repaired the front door jam which saved me hundreds on replacing the entire door! He's on time, on budget, and trustworthy. I will not hesitate to call Aaron when I need anything done.
Mike replaced our front door.. Because the new door was just the "door", he had to create a new casement and make several adjustments. He spent a few hours on it, but remained focused and patient, overcoming all the obstacles associated with the task. We are very happy with our entry door, and am pleased that I decided to have it installed by Mike.
Chris did a fantastic job and was very reasonable in price. I needed several small things done and he was very accommodating in agreeing to get the materials and arrange comfortable times to do the work. He furnished the labor and material. Repaired a fence post, , installed new dryer vent, caulked sixteen windows, removing and replacing solar screens to do so. He sealed and painted spots on upstairs ceiling and down stairs rooms, painted the front door, garage door jamb and replaced sweeps on storm doors. I highly recommend him and look forward to his doing two rooms of tile for me in October.
Wasn't the cleanest job but the door works.
I needed a doorknob replaced on an old door that was a little tricky. I needed it done ASAP. He was prompt and did an excellent job. There was a small change on the quote but it was something that neither of us could foresee. I would use him again.
We hired Oak to help install a storm door on our laundry room. He was super sweet and came out right away. He bought us a new door and built a door frame. Did great work and did not overcharge. We have considered hiring him for other carpentry jobs and would definitely recommend him.
He was reliable, courteous, conscientious, considerate and skilled. He corrected anything that was not up to his high standards or mine. He always left a clean work site. His work was excellent. He removed ceiling fans, clad an exposed, laminated beam, trimmed the cladding and rehung the fans on a vaulted ceiling. Refinished three doors, installed molding around five doors, corrected problems with two doors original installation, installed door knobs on all. Installed baseboard in two rooms. Extensively remodeled an office including: Installed tongue-in-groove aromatic red cedar on one wall Custom framed three windows, two in aromatic red cedar and one in pine. Completed installation of a half-done bead-board ceiling Installed track lighting on said ceiling. Painted said ceiling and the pine window framing Installed wiring raceway along three walls to carry computer wiring. Added a duplex plug to one wall. Finished and installed a barn door on an office wall allowing door to slide open and closed without taking up room needed for office furniture. Did a beautiful job. Built a wheelchair ramp along an uneven exit to facilitate safe passage for a newly handicapped resident. I will happily employ him again. Thanks, again.
I have used A Frame Home Services for several jobs, including building a concrete retaining wall, tree removal, landscaping, and door installation. I have always been completely pleased with both the quality of work and the customer service. Honest and straight-forward, they are my go-to folks for everything now.
Brian has completed a number of projects for me, and I think he's great. He is a meticulous carpenter and a creative and skilled craftsman. He remodeled my laundry room by removing cabinets and adding custom shelves & crown, it looks great. He added a trash station to my island cabinet, which is so much more functional. He installed custom shelves in a bedroom closet; he removed the metal ones and added nice painted shelves making the space much more usable. He also replaced my front door and added knobs and pulls to my kitchen. I plan to use him for future projects, specifically custom shelves in my master closet. I highly recommend Brian hes fantastic.
Jim replaced a patio door, removed and replaced old and crumbling logs around a raised plant bed, and built a large, very attractive patio deck for me. This is the only job he has done for me, but I would definitely call him again for any work I would need. He worked with me on choosing materials and on getting the deck just right. He is a man of integrity who does excellent work for a fair price. He works quickly, keeps to a time schedule, and cleans up everything at the end. You can't go wrong working with Jim! I have not worked with anyone else who was as concerned as Jim about me being completely satisfied with the job.
Mike really cares about customer satisfaction and takes pride in doing a complete and detailed job. Mike has done the following work for us: Removed and installed double pane windows Removed and installed new front door with sidelights, and new back door including new trim work inside and out Removed all vinyl and masonite siding, and replaced it with Hardi Plank Painted all exterior surfaces and completed all work in a timely manner Mike only knows how to do work one way... And that is doing it the right way!
We initially contacted Jim in response to an ad for gutter cleaning. During our initial visit, I learned that Steel Horse Constructors does much more than just that. I had been wanting, due to getting older and needing to stay off ladders, to install gutters with leaf guards, but the major brands were cost-prohibitive. Jim showed us a much lower cost alternative gutter screening, but didn't try to hard-sell them. We decided to go with these. Since I was planning to paint the trim on our single-story brick house myself, we had Jim give us an estimate for that as well. We also had some rotted wood around a metal back door, which he inspected, and found that it would cost less to go ahead and replace the entire door and frame. We opted for a new door with the metal blinds sandwiched between double glass panes. We also had two dormers with deteriorating wood trim which needed to be replaced. Jim prepared an estimate which included priming the bare wood (high quality primer), priming the gutters (a different primer needed), removing and replacing the door (turned out that the original builder had botched the installation badly), removing and replacing the dormer trim, painting all trim, fascia, soffits, and gutters (they wound up applying at least two and sometimes three coats of high quality paint) , installing screens on all the gutters, cutting down a large front door and installing new sweeps on both doors. What wasn't anticipated was the extra work and material required to install the back door, which Jim custom fabricated the new frame and molding for. He also custom fabricated the new arched window frames for the dormer windows, even routing them to make them more attractive. Whenever an issue arose, Jim had an answer for it, and he proved to be knowledgeable and adaptable in each instance. Even more to his credit, he and his crew took care of numerous issues we had around the house which weren't even included in the original bid, incorporating then into their work as they went. When they were finished (and they weren't finished until Jim inspected everything to insure it was done to his standards), the original estimate was what we paid; he charges not one cent for all the extra work they had done, unlike many contractors who nickel-and-dime you to death for any extra costs. They cleaned up their job site well, and our house looks better than when new. All told, the work took about 6-7 days. We can't express enough how impressed we are with Jim and his staff; they are hard-working, honest, and perfectionists. We are already planning to use him for other projects in the near future (that is, if we can get him away from the neighbors who have already hired him for their projects. We definitely recommend Steel Horse Constructors - you will be glad you did. Dan Toney
