I have been a trainer for over 6 years. I am skilled in basic to advanced obedience, behavior modification, service dog training, mild to moderate aggression, and much more.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I originally started pet sitting at a young age and I was known for my love of animals. I volunteered for rescues at adoption center for awhile and learned a pattern of reasons for surrenders. I soon thought to myself: how can I help this? So I began learning how to train. I read a lot and practiced. In the meantime, during open house at Texas A&M University, I saw a section with dogs inside the building. I was so intrigued and wanted to get involved, so I did. From then on, my love and respect for training animals as grown even stronger. I've trained with several service dog organizations (Power Paws Assistance Dogs, MADE in Texas Assistance Dogs, and Character Matters Service Dogs) as well as rescues. I then started my own non-profit called Texas Service Dogs. In order to make this service affordable for individuals with disabilities, we are volunteers which is why I have created The Whole Shebang - Pet Services to employ myself as a professional trainer. My story book is still being written every day, and I would love to have you a part of it!
