Introduction: As a volunteer for Texas Husky Rescue, I started fostering several dogs who were going to be put down if they weren't removed from their current shelters immediately. My experience in caring for dogs with varying temperaments and backgrounds grew as did request from people to help out with temporarily caring for their pets. Without meaning to, I became a volunteer dog and cat sitter, and I decided that even though the job had picked me, it was something I had to do. Pets need interaction and attention from people on a regular basis and when a person does not have the option to bring a pet with him/her when he/she leaves his/her house for an extended period, it is very important that somebody loving and trustworthy spend time with the pet(s). Whether you hire me or not, I strongly urge you to make sure you have a pet sitter available when you are away.
