Hey there! My name is Jacob and before I became a Regional M.I. For a beauty marketing company that internationally trains and educates retailers like Ulta, Sephora and Neiman Marcus on over 40+ brands I attended a makeup academy and interned with an amazing mentor for 1 very long year. This mentor (who shall not be named) had one too many contracts to cover that December so she generously sent me off to run an entire show in Seoul, Korea and after that week my life was never the same. I left the academy and toured globally for about 330 days out of each year. Yes! Exhausting haha in a great way. We’re talking NY Fashion week, IMATS, Sony Studios, Tejano Music Awards, Brand Launches, Country Music Awards, Seoul Fashion Week and long days and nights of production, NDAs and contracts that I had to hire a whole team of lawyers for. I was way out of my league but my team of 10 thought I new exactly what I was doing. Go figure. I woke up one morning and realized two things, I missed remembering the clients I worked on and I missed having more than about 15 minutes to work on each of them. These days I spend most of my time training retailers and supporting skin, hair and cosmetic brands that have a special place in my heart. “It’s not just makeup. Makeup can make or break a special day”. Your artist should not follow a “look” but several technics. Every individuals facial structure, skin tone and skin type are very different. Trends fit the Influencer and the inspiration fits you. Your artist will have to understand the difference between “contour” and “bronzer”, “oil” and “hydration”, peaks of light, distract and affect, amplify and modify and MINERAL REFLECTION.
