FAQs
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Since this day is all about the couple, I really like to have time to connect with them. In fact, I jokingly say (with respect to Meghan Trainor), “it’s all about the bride”. After making contract with the couple, I like to put together a timeline so everyone has the same expectations. The very LAST thing I want is for my part of this weekend to be any sort of a strain. Both the bride and groom have enough on their plate. I like to get to know as much as I can about the couple so I can personalize the service as much as possible. I have a time with the couple so we can talk about exactly the type of service they would like to have (brief, formal, etc.) and also find out what other elements they would like to include in the service such as music, candle lighting, communion, etc. I prefer to be part of the rehearsal depending on the type of service, but that isn’t always necessary.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have been licensed to the ministry since 2008 and ordained since 2010. I speak often in churches and conferences throughout the country. I have been assisting nonprofits and ministries for over 15 years and have performed numerous weddings throughout the country from destination weddings in Hawaii and Utah to local weddings in my current home state of Texas.
- Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?
I am blessed to be part of all the weddings I have been able to officiate. I have performed ceremonies for my little sister and other family members and those obviously hold a special place in my heart since they are family. I felt especially honored to perform the ceremony for my daughter’s best friend in Park Cities Utah. This event was especially touching since I wasn’t really close to the couple except my interaction with them through my daughter. It was a wonderful time of celebration on top of the mountain and I was able to have some quality time with the couple to really personalize the service. It was very complimentary to have couple come up and meet me for the first time and let me know they wanted me to do their ceremony.
