Mona Lisa moving is one of the best moving company I ever hired. They did however qouted me wrong but quite honestly they charged me a very reasonable price. I do agree they qouted me quite low for the job it took to move my stuff at first so it was very fair they charged me more later. They care about my furniture very much. I have a 5000$+ bed and dresser which they took the time and care to move it. They wrapped it good and even took it apart and assemble it for me. Very nice people and easy to work with. Moving is big stress and headaches. Save yourself the trouble and hire the professional Mona Lisa moving company. You will not be dissapointed. My furniture arrived looking like they did before. Thanks again Mona Lisa! Oh and they come with a spanking new huge moving truck. You know how most moving company come in a bang up sqeeking truck? Not them! Will use them again if I ever need to move anything.

These guys were AWESOME!!! On time, very fast, but safe. They treated my items as if it were their own household items they were moving. I moved into a rent house, and we will be moving into our own home soon, and thankful for us, these guys live only a few blocks from us. And of course I will definitely be using these guys again. Thank you Omar, you guys are totally Awesome. Definitely recommend these guys to anyone. You won't regret it!!! A. Smith-Stallings Little Elm, Tx

Movers were very courteous. I had a 2 bdrm apt. It took them 3 hours to load the truck and 2 hours to unload the truck. Not certain if I underestimated the amount of time (quoted 2 hours), but I didn't anticipate it taking that long. I didn't have much furniture, but yes, a lot of boxes. Having not used a moving company before I assumed the quoted time was accurate. I believe it's better to be realistic with the moving time as to not be surprise with twice the budgeted expense when all is done. Overall, I'm happy I didn't have to do the move myself because it would have been too much stress. Again, great company, good experience, just be upfront with how much time it will actually take so customers can budget for the expense.

Jayden's Moving Company did an exceptional job helping us move our of our townhouse. They were fast, courteous, and proffesional. By the end the truck was packed to the brim but they managed to squeeze every inch out of it to make everything fit. I would definitely use their moving services if I was ever back in Dallas.

Thank you so much for moving my family Jacob (owner). We had a last minute move due to my wife switching jobs, we were required move to South Carolina in a week and I was stressing pretty badly about not being able to get the whole house cleaned out and moved in that time period. Thanks to Epsilon we were able to do exactly that. With a few days in between these guys turned and burned out of my driveway in Texas and got me and my family moved out here to South Carolina in just 3 days. Can’t tell you how happy I am that we got this done. Thanks again Jacob

I have used Helping Hands Moving at least a half dozen times for large and small residential moves, including packing, unpacking, and storage challenges and they have consistently provided great service. This group is well managed, efficient, and works very hard as a team. They are honest, reliable, flexible, supportive of your goals, and responsive to your needs and concerns. I would not hesitate to use them again or recommend them to others. They are the 'first string' in my book.

Just wanted to let everyone know that I was very happy with the moving service I received from Legacy Moving Services in Frisco, TX. The movers were really easy to work with. We downsized our home and moved out of state and still had way too much stuff but "The Fun Movers" really worked with me in getting everything into our new house. They did not complain when I asked them to move a few things around to make it fit better. Rob, Reggie, Marc, and Larry were just happy to do the job and make it work! We did get a lot of rain and windy weather the day of the move and I thought about changing dates but they said that I needed to keep the date I had set up because they had another house to move the next day. They even sent an extra mover at no charge to make sure eveything went smooth and remained on schedule! Now that's service! Our overall experience with Legacy Moving Services was Excellent. The men had a great attitude, were very strong and worked very hard to get the job done. I am happy to say there were no damages and all my items arrived on time, safe and in great condition. I highly recommend Legacy Moving Services to anyone that is looking for a local moving company that provides excellent out of state service. Call Doug and his team today!

      Q & A

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

How much does it cost for long-distance movers?

Long-distance movers transport your belongings across the country for you. No more renting a trailer and road-tripping from state to state with your entire house hitched to your bumper. Long-distance movers make the move happen so you can fly to your new home, suitcase in hand, and wait for your furniture to arrive. Nationally, the average price range for long-distance movers is $1,490-$2,230. The distance you are moving and the number of cubic feet the movers have to transport will both affect cost. Another factor in long-distance moving costs is whether you choose to pay for an exclusive move or a consolidated move.

In an exclusive move, which is more expensive, your belongings are the only cargo on the moving truck. The movers travel directly to your new house and deliver your belongings on a scheduled day. A consolidated move is more affordable because the movers transport your belongings along with those of other people, saving them time and gas — which means you save money. The downside is that your belongings typically arrive with a two-week delivery window rather than on a prescheduled day. Read reviews to make sure you can trust the company with your possessions to ensure a peaceful moving process.

How much does it cost to move a one-bedroom apartment across the country?

Professional movers can handle the hard work of moving your one-bedroom apartment across the country for you. You can determine what your move will cost by learning the rate your movers charge per cubic foot and how they factor distance into the total cost. Cross-country movers typically charge based on your belongings rather than apartment size because that determines how much work they will have to do. For example, a studio apartment that is crammed full of things will take more work and moving truck space than the contents of a three-bedroom apartment with very little furniture.

Cross-country movers may also have varying rates, depending on where in the country you are moving. For example, a company may charge $5 per cubic foot for consolidated moves along the East Coast and $6 per cubic foot for consolidated moves from the East Coast to the central states or the West Coast. A one-bedroom apartment costs approximately $1,500 to move across the country.

How much does it cost to move across the country?

The national average cost for hiring cross-country movers is $1,490-$2,220. A number of factors can affect the cost. One factor is the distance you want to move. For example, an East Coast-based moving company may charge $5 per cubic foot for consolidated moves along the East Coast and $6 per cubic foot for consolidated moves from the East Coast to the central states or the West Coast. Another factor is how many belongings you have. Most cross-country movers charge by the cubic foot.

The type of move you want is another consideration in cost. You can have your belongings moved exclusively and delivered on a set day, or you can opt for a consolidated move, which is less expensive. In a consolidated move your belongings are stored and transported with the goods of other customers who are moving to your general vicinity during the same general time frame as you. Your belongings should arrive within a one- to two-week window, rather than on a set day. If you want the cross-country movers to pack your belongings for you, the cost will also increase.
