Such a nice man who is not out to rip people off like many carpet cleaners out there. Feels good having clean carpets before the holidays. Pet odors are gone. Will use Keith again!

DeMario just let my home. Not only was he efficient, on time, and made my crappy carpets look brand new. He is extremely professional, respectful and has a warm, fun sense of humor. Does play the piano quite well. I will definitely be using DeMario again. Thank you for helping me to regain clean carpets in my house..... I want to ensure DeMario, that when my friends need their carpets clean I will make sure he is the first call they make. I have had commercial carpet cleaners come out and they ruined my rug for DOUBLE the price. Thanks again DeMario and look forward to using your services again..

Eugene was very responsive, flexible, & accomodating regarding our short notice, urgent request. He was very kind, professional & thorough! He did a quality job, the carpet started drying quickly vs being sopping wet as from other carpet cleaners. He also deep cleaned our tile & grout, then protected with a sealant. Everthing looks & smells great. No strong chemical odor--just clean. Very happy overall & will call this company in the future.

Lifetouch did an incredible job with our carpets. They worked quickly and thoroughly. Our carpets look amazing. The price was just as incredible. There was no ridiculous upcharge for deodorizing and stain treatments. We definitely got more than we paid for. I think we've found our lifetime carpet cleaners with Lifetouch Carpet Cleaning!

David and his father came out and did an outstanding job. I had just had the interior walls painted and the painters had left some paint splatter on the carpets and paint over spray where the carpet meets the walls. David was able to get ALL the paint out. He and his dad worked very hard and I was impressed. They were polite, personable and did an EXCELLENT job. I would highly recommend them.

Briteway Cleaning was "spot on"! Not only did the owner work with my tight time frame, he was also on time and very professional. He also provided some stain removal tips on the go forward for my puppy who is still a work in progress with potty training. Overall I was very pleased with the service and price. Will definitely reach out to Briteway Cleaning for my next carpet cleaning. Thank you again!

If there were 10 stars I would give them . They are so flexible and work hard to get the job done. We had an issue where Carpet Cleaner's and another repairman had to be in the home at the same time and they were absolutely terrific about working around the other crew.

Today had my carpets cleaned by Oxi Fresh Carpet Cleaners, Matt Cook was very helpful in making my choice to go with them and a good price. Jordan did an excellent job. My carpet looks great and left the whole house smelling nice. Did not take long for carpets to dry. Was able to put furniture back after lunch. They were great to work with. Thank you Matt and Jordan.

Had to move out quick! Really short notice but Bembry Flooring was willing to help me with my carpet cleaning needs on short notice. The gentleman was super nice and did actually what I was hoping for. Had other carpet cleaning companies do my floors in the past and was always disappointed! I will definitely be passing on Bembry Flooring to my family, friends, and stranger's that need help with their flooring needs!

With three very active children under the age of 10, my carpet rarely stays clean. And with stains that run the gamut from drinks, food, markers (the permanent kind), nail polish, and who knows what else, we were convinced our carpet needed to be replaced. We’ve used those lower priced carpet cleaning companies and DIY steam cleaners and they were okay… you get what you paid for. We used Paneless for the first time recently and WOW, were we ecstatic… our carpet looked NEW! Stains were gone… nail polish, permanent markers, and who knows what else. The carpet dried quickly and was soft too. A huge plus! But not only was the carpet service amazing, Ryan and Ansel’s friendly professionalism and genuine care is far beyond what we have experienced with other carpet cleaning companies. They took their time… this was not a rush job what-so-ever. Ryan also took the time to educate me about their technique, processes, and how they differ from other companies. My family strongly recommends Paneless for your next carpet cleaning service. You WON’T be disappointed!

Q & A

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

Who cleans area rugs?

Like your carpets, area rugs should ideally be cleaned at least once a year to remove dust and dirt and help them last longer. In general, carpet cleaning professionals also clean area rugs. Some rug cleaners bring their cleaning equipment to your home, while others remove your area rugs and clean them at their facilities. Either way, the rug should be cleaned with the solution most appropriate to its specific fabric and construction. It should also be completely dry before you return it to the floor.

How often should carpets be steam cleaned?

Dirty carpets can be unhealthy for the people living in the home, particularly those who have allergies, so it’s important to have them cleaned regularly; simply vacuuming once or twice a week isn’t enough. Carpet cleaning should be done by a professional carpet cleaning service at least once a year to remove grime and help extend the life of your carpet. Most carpet manufacturers recommend professional steam cleaning, which penetrates deep into the carpet fibers and lifts out both dirt and the pollutants that get tracked inside. Steam cleaning also removes most of the moisture, so carpets dry quickly enough for homeowners to resume using them the same day. Between professional carpet cleanings, your carpet may need an emergency spot cleaning. Pet accidents, food or drink spills, and more can often be effectively cleaned with some water and a drop of white vinegar, although many cleaners will also make house calls for smaller spills and hard-to-clean spots like wine or grease stains.

How much does it cost to clean a rug?

Area rugs are typically found in high-traffic areas of the home, like hallways and entryways, so they collect more dirt and stains than simple vacuuming can handle. Similar to carpet cleaning, professionals can come to your home to deep-clean your area rugs. The national average cost for rug cleaning ranges from $80 to $120, but may be higher or lower depending on the rug’s size and fiber type. Rug cleaners generally charge by the square foot; for example, a standard 8-foot by 10-foot rug costs an average of $100 to clean. Natural fiber rugs, such as wool or silk, are usually more expensive to have cleaned than synthetic rugs. A carpeting cleaning company may charge on average $1.50 per square foot to clean a synthetic rug, $2 per square foot for a wool rug, and $3 per square foot for a silk rug. Some delicate rugs need to be washed by hand, which increases the price. Carpet cleaning companies often offer additional services, such as removing odors or applying moth deterrent, which can add 20 cents to 25 cents per square foot.

How much does it cost to clean a carpet?

Carpet cleaning costs vary depending on the type of cleaning, such as steam cleaning, and whether there are any stains that require special treatment. The main cost factors are the square footage of the carpet and the material it’s made from. The national average carpet cleaning price ranges from $100 to $130 for a typical suburban home, but steam cleaning prices start at an average of $120. In general, professional carpet cleaning ranges from an average of 20 cents to 50 cents per square foot, depending on where you live. Many companies have a minimum fee or room requirement — such as two rooms for an average of $40 each — and will charge more to clean carpeted stairs or a second floor. Finally, the carpet fiber type, density and pile will also affect the cost of cleaning; man-made fibers are stain-resistant and easier to clean, while wool carpeting is sensitive to water and requires more care.

How much does it cost to clean an area rug?

Whether your pet had an accident, the party got too wild, or your kids can’t control their juice boxes — we all need rug cleaning from time to time. In fact, even if you don’t have a spill or spot, it’s wise to have your area rug cleaned approximately once a year to keep the rug fibers in good health. In general, rug cleaning prices depend on the square footage of the rug, what the rug is made of, whether any repairs are needed, and whether you require the pro to travel to your location or provide pickup and drop-off services. Nationally, average area rug cleaning prices range from $80 to $120.

Wool and silk area rugs typically cost more to clean than rugs made from synthetic fibers because the more delicate materials take more care and may require specialized cleaning fluids. For example, a synthetic rug may cost $1.50 per square foot to clean; a wool, cotton, or chiffon rug could be $2 per square foot; and a silk or Navajo wool rug could cost $3 per square foot. The two most common rug cleaning methods are steam and chemical cleaning. The costs for the two methods are often the same, although a steam-cleaned rug will take longer to dry due to the moisture. If your area rug needs odor removal, moth deterrent, or hand washing, there will be additional charges.
