I had a phenomenal experience and what's more a really fun time recording at this studio. This business does excellent quality work and is incredibly helpful and professional. I will absolutely be going back to this place.Aug 30, 2017Verified
This was such an awesome experience! My sister and I never had been to a recording studio, so me and my sister were a little bit nervous. Efran was super hospitable and helped us every step of the recording process. He never looked down on us because of our inexperience, but he gave advice and encouraged us with such a positive attitude. Overall this was an excellent experience and we would love to do it again.Dec 22, 2016Verified
Efran Solorio's recording studio is awesome! He was very flexible in working with me on a tight deadline. He was a joy to work with and I will def. be using him in the future! Thank you Efran. Below is a link to youtube. He provided the backing track to the video and I put together the video. http://youtu.be/8E-5xElFMjMMay 9, 2014Verified
Efrens an after-hours recording engineer who works his craft as much per amore as to make a living. Hes cheery and enthusiastic about the projects he takes on Efren makes your project his own which makes him an ideal partner and guide to the novice artist who needs the services of a professional recording lab. The space where he records, mixes and edits is an intimidation-free zone and admittedly a work in progress. A converted garage space thats part cozy bedroom, part rock music studio and part electronic man cave where theres a wire cable for every reason he plans to build a control room and turn it into a more conventional recording environment in the near-to-distant future. Even so, he stresses the rooms acoustic balance of diffusion, absorption and reflection, and whatever it lacks in construction design, Efren more than makes up for in tools, expertise and personal touch. His secret weapon is the giant mug of hot honeyed tea he serves you to soothe those vocal cords and it works! If you have a day job and youre working on a tight recording budget, his convenient after-work hours and hourly rates are a welcome relief. At the console, hes a Pro Tools wiz who worked with me to deliver all the subtle touches I asked for. And in a busy recording town where engineers seem to be too preoccupied to return your calls, Efren had me at, Hello I will create a seamless, perfectly balanced product for you. Hes still in the mixing/mastering phase as of this review, but I was very pleased with the sound of the results all through our production process.Apr 13, 2014VerifiedSilence Audible Recording Studio's reply
This was definitely a new and very rewarding experience. Thank you for the opportunity which you and I both hope it won't be the last.
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?I charge $30/hr for everything so there are no surprises. This means that I charge the same rate for setting up, recording, producing, playing instruments for your project, mixing and mastering, etc. No additional charges means you always know what to expect and you dictate how many hours you want to spend at the studio. You want to record for a couple of hours? Sure, no problem. You feel adventurous and want to book me on a Saturday for a whole day? No problem!!! I can work the hours you need according to your budget.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?I have a couple of ways to approach every new project. On bigger projects, some require a consultation prior to starting to talk about expectations and ways I may be able to help ideas become a reality. Consultations are always FREE of charge with no obligation. On smaller projects like vocals-only recordings, we usually just dive in on the first day of the appointment. It is really up to YOU if you want a consultation prior to starting the project. On vocals-only projects I am usually able to mix and master on the spot if it's only one or two songs that are being recorded.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?I have a ProTools Production Certificate specializing in Music Production. As mentioned before, I play guitar, drums, bass, keys, and can help with harmonies on your vocals.
