About
I have over 24 years of piano playing experience and over 11 years of piano teaching experience.
I have a Doctorate (Ph.D.) in Piano Performance and Pedagogy from the University of North Texas. I also have a Master's in Piano Performance from Eastman School of Music and a Performance Diploma from SMU.
I also have taught at Tarleton State University as an adjunct Piano Professor for the semester.
I have been trained in the Suzuki Piano Method for over 5 years. I can teach organized and systematic lessons for students in any level. Many of my students have attended North Suzuki Festival in Dallas and received awards. My students participate in annual recitals and have won the international piano competitions and played in Carnegie Hall in New York. Also, my students won many local piano competitions.
Some of my accomplishments are winning prizes in multiple collegiate/ international level competitions (Los Angeles/Liszt, Memphis and Colorado, etc) around the country as well as performing in Carnegie Hall in New York City.
I am also a member of the North Texas Music Association and I regularly have my students attend festivals and competitions so they are motivated.
If you and/or your kids are interested in learning the piano, please do not hesitate to contact me.

My daughter has only been a student of Sui Kim for a short period but we have seen significant improve even from her first session. Sui Kim provided us with a detailed plan for how she would teach our daughter how to play the piano and the progress we could expect to see. We have not been disappointed.
Details: 10 - 13 years old • No, the student cannot read music • No formal training • What the teacher recommends • Yes, the student has a keyboard • 60 minutes • Remotely (phone or internet) • My home, venue, etc.

One word, incredible! After searching the DFW area and interviewing several instructors, I found Su. Her approach and teaching style simply amazed me. They say "practice with purpose" leads to greatness.
Su has an incredible style that left me on Day 1 knowing I was in the right hands. As a total beginner, I can't say enough about the confidence in the future of my piano journey knowing she is my teacher. While I'm lucky we both are in the same area of Dallas, I would have driven 2 hours to work with her had I needed to. You won't be disappointed!

Su is very helpful and responsive from the beginning. My son likes the way she teaches piano. She knows how to make him focus and get excited during the lesson. She also pays attention to my son’ sitting and hand position while he plays the piano, which I think is very important
