With 28 years of roofing experience, I am now semi-retired and an educator alongside my wife. I remain a GAF certified contractor, offering installations with a 50-year material and labor warranty. We only do two or three roofs per month and they are affordable and of the highest quality. No sales people just me and the guys. I encourage you to read our reviews concerning roof installs. Howdy! Ok Ive come here to shed some light on James and his amazing crew and company! Ill start from the top. We live in a super strange home. We live in a partially underground bunker. It needs work because it wasnt built right and the roofs are some of the biggest problem areas we have. That being said I searched high and low thought out almost all of east Texas, I couldnt find anyone that wanted to touch this roof! EITHER OF THEM!!! Eventually someone put me James way. It changed mine and my fiances life! James drove out from garland to our home near Tyler, late in the after noon, ran though all the options with us, and gave us not just the best price possible, but gave us the most personable service Ive ever had in my life! James isnt just a business owner, James is a roofer by trade! And he knows his products, he knows his craft, he knows his stuff full stop! They busted their butts to get our roof done. And its amazing! Our home is much colder inside and retains the cold better! Its quieter! And the work looks amazing! He had to use a special product called TPO because of how strange our home is and it turned out absolutely stunning! I could literally rave about James and his wonderful Wife for hours! Two of the best damn people Ive ever had the pleasure of meeting! They will continue to get my business, I will praise their work, and I will tell anyone and everyone that he and his team are your one stop shop for everything you could ever need! I want to say I was not at all surprised about it getting cooler in your home with the new roof, what did surprise me a little was that you mentioned it had noticeably reduced the noise from outside the home. I do hear that comment when we install windows, not too much with roofs.

This was the first homeowners insurance claim in my life and working with James made the experience much better than I anticipated. He met with the insurance inspector and both of them were on the roof together to evaluate what needed to be done. He explained the details of what was to be completed in language I could understand. He replaced existing shingles and roof system with a much better system: GAF limited lifetime HDZ System Plus Warranty, It looks great!The crew completed the roof system in one day and James was on site and on the roof several times during the day to review progress. He kept me informed as to what was going on during the work cycle. He was timely getting the documentation needed to complete the claim. I highly recommend Bright Ideas Home Improvement and am planning to use them for another project.

James and his team did an excellent job from start to finish. We had some tree damage not only to roof but the decking and bannister as well. One side of the house the gutters came down taking the roof overhang with it. A separate garage had roof damage from a tree falling over on it. James was out daily overseeing his team doing the woodworking, gutters, roof work. After the last shingle was nailed down, his team did a cleanup that left the place cleaner than before they started. James came out the day after to double check everything. The job was reasonably priced and the work was highest quality. I highly recommend them.

TLDR/summary: I would not hesitate to contact Bright Ideas Home Improvement again for any contracting needs, and would encourage anyone to contact them if they are looking for high quality work with great customer service and reasonable prices.Bright Ideas Home Improvement recently estimated an extensive renovation project for me. I was impressed by their high level of customer service and excellent communication. Kellie responded to my initial inquiry, specifically and intelligently, right away (it was 9:30 at night on a Saturday). James is a seasoned and skilled project manager who chooses to work on just one project at a time. He has 30 years of residential and commercial experience, yet he is quick to listen and eager to continue learning his craft. He was willing to work with me on something new to him, namely installing IKEA kitchen cabinets. This would have been cost effective for me since I would have done work of assembling the cabinets myself, as I have done before on another kitchen renovation. Other contractors I met with did not display such flexibility, as they steered my budget conscious project toward stock cabinets that they had done before.Bright Ideas Home Improvement provided thorough estimates promptly, and though a smaller construction company by choice, they leverage technology appropriately to generate their quotes, produce construction drawings, and keep clients updated on job progress. They dont shy away from pulling permits and doing the required city inspections when the project calls for it, which speaks volumes about their professionalism. James runs his company with his clients best interests in mind; he makes himself available on weekends, and was highly responsive in all my communications with him. Bright Ideas Home Improvements prices were additionally highly competitive; they do not mark up materials that they purchase for contracted work. Though I ultimately decided to not go forward with my project, I would have undoubtedly gone with Bright Ideas Home Improvement.
