- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have been training for over 10 years, teaching positive reinforcement dog classes, as well as over 20 years working at a veterinary hospital. I mentored with a professional trainer for several years and continue my education with seminars, online classes and reading books about dog behavior.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I started as I think many dog trainers do, with my own dog. I had taken a class with her but felt as though we didn't really learn anything new and she was a little reactive to other dogs and some people. I met Barb, my mentor and took my first of many classes with her. She introduced me to the art of teaching, not training. I am so grateful to have found Barb and been set on the path to discovery a new love of animal behavior.
- What types of customers have you worked with?
All ages, men, women and children from many different backgrounds.
