CLIFF PAPE IS A SCAMMER, CON ARTIST, AND THIEF I am warning you. Do NOT under any circumstances sign a contract with Clifton Andrew Pape. For our first meeting, we agreed to meet at the gym. Every other trainer I have ever worked with would train me when we first meet so they can see my current abilities and we can see how we work together. This was not the case with Cliff. He went straight for the money (first red flag). He put a contract in front of me and told me he will bill me every month $600 for 5 days a week and immediately swiped my credit card and wrote down the card number and made a copy of the front and back of the card! This price sounded fair to me since he added that he would throw in a free month so I agreed, but still was concerned about how quick he was to jump to the money instead of genuinely being interested in training me. He is a smooth talker and told me that if I didn’t like it or it wasn’t going how I planned I could cancel no problem regardless of the contract (my mistake for taking his word for it). The problems started March 10. This was the first time he cancelled on me (the same day) and did not reschedule. I thought it would be a one time thing so I did not worry. After that they (him and his wife who also trains) cancelled an additional TWENTY SIX times over the next 2 months. I am supposed to work out 20 days a month (5 days a week). This means in 2 months I am scheduled to have 40 sessions. 27 out of 40 were cancelled!!!!!!! I have all of their text messages saved on my phone as proof. I was trained 13 times for a total of $1200. Now if that isn’t shocking enough he also over charged me consistently! The first charge was March 1, 2015. On March 17 I noticed another charge for $600 come out of my account. I was not supposed to be charged again until April 1 so this was a surprise. Cliff texted me saying he made a mistake and he will refund it. I personally think he probably charges everyone extra and waits to see who notices. If you notice he’ll refund you and say it was a mistake, if you don’t notice great, he gets extra cash. I asked him to immediately refund me and he did and it posted to my account on the 18th. JUST FIVE DAYS LATER on March 23rd there was another $600 charge show up on my account. I again questioned him about it and he said he will not refund it because it is for the month of April. I told him that means I am losing a week since March 1-23 is only 3 weeks and I paid for a month. He did not care. While I am on vacation out of the country I get a notice from the “accounting department” saying they are charging my card AGAIN on April 29 (again, early). Luckily my card had been stolen the week before and I got a new card so it would not allow them to auto charge. I refused to be charged again when I am owed 27 missed sessions and a free month and would be traveling twice the next month! I asked to simply make up those missed days and use my free month before being charged again. Cliff would not agree and said he needed to charge me again and we can save that month as a future credit. If I am being charged every month when will I use a credit?!? He instead threatened to send my bill to collection if not paid within 1 business day. I asked since we could not come to an agreement that we just each go our separate ways and I lose my free month and 27 missed sessions and he does not charge me an additional $600 for May (that I am not even using). He refused and insisted I pay the additional $600. I am now paying $1800 for a total of 13 sessions. You have been warned, Cliff Pape is extremely shady, unprofessional and is only out to take your money. He recently filed bankruptcy (look it up, its public record) and starts tons of small companies that all fail. He is currently starting a day care with his present “accounting department.” I would NEVER ON EARTH leave my kids with them. BEWARE!

Great husband and wife personal trainers in Houston. They are attentive and come up with customized workout plans. They are even there for support outside of your sessions. I am continuing to workout with them on meeting my goals
