Introduction: Children learn best when they are having fun. Yes, I COULD teach kids how to read the spots off of a page, but I'd rather teach them to LOVE music first, so that they actually enjoy learning about reading the "spots". I strongly encourage creativity in my students, and teamwork. They have one common goal, and that's to make music that is pretty. I love watching the dedication my students have, and how rewarding it is for them (and for me) when they have completed a perfect performance!

My son struggles with severe ADHD. We had tried a few places for lessons, but I found that the teachers were experienced in music, but not in dealing with a child who has a learning disability. Then we met Miss Deb, through a friend of a friend. She was fun, patient, and gently made my son focus - she incorporated ear playing with sight reading, and he began to learn. We have been with her for three years, and love her to death. I recommend her to everyone who ever asks about piano lessons.

My son was losing interest in piano, so based on a recommendation from a friend, we put him in with Deborah. She took a month to get to know him, and his learning style, and then put him in a group of two other boys his age. After a month of group playing, the boys had composed their own song, and were learning the theory, also, but as it pertains to music composition (he is still learning theory, but in a different order than most kids would learn it). We like how Deborah tailors the curriculum for each child's needs, and how she gets them excited to come to class and to perform. Our youngest son is three, but when he turns four, we are going to put him in Deborah's Young Musicians' Conservatory class!
