FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
It's really difficult to have a standard price for roof repairs. I usually have to inspect or even perform a water test to determine a scope for the repairs. I can usually do a total roof replacement for $185/square for a 25 yr. shingle which is your standard roof system. It includes 15 felt underlayment, drip edge, new pipe jacks, replacement of up to 3 sheets of decking and a 5 year transferable workmanship warranty. Other factors that may affect the price is the steepness of the pitch on the roof, if home is over 1 story and if there are multiple layers of shingles to remove. I can also provide an estimate for an Owen's Corning or GAF premium roof system as well. I also inspect roofs to determine if a client has a insurance claim for an entire roof replacement.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I usually like to set an appointment and walk the project with any potential client. It helps me to get a clear understanding of their expectations and take accurate measurements to provide a solid estimate at a competitive price. I feel first impression's are important so it also gives us an opportunity to see how it will be to work with one another.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I received my B.S. in Industrial Sales & Distribution with a Minor in General Business from Sam Houston State University in 1998. I began a career in construction selling emergency services for fire, water and mold claims in 2002 for Blackmon Mooring. I worked as a Project Manager for Cotton Restoration in 2005 after Hurricane Rita and Wilma and again in 2008 for Hurricane Ike. I worked as an claims adjuster in New York/New Jersey after Hurricane Sandy in 2012. I worked as a warranty manager for David Power Homes doing warranty repairs from 2005 to 2008 which was how I really got into roofing repairs.
