Wedding Officiant
Wedding Officiant was good. She arrived on time, completed the ceremony, and left after. However, there are a few things that could’ve been improved. First, it’s probably important to read all of the fine print. We began the service at 3:30 instead of hours agreed time of 3 o’clock and automatically we were charged double the amount. Secondly, perhaps she’s had poor experiences in the past, because she wanted a full payment to begin before the service and before signing any documents. Thirdly, we asked weeks before for a portion of the ceremony to be performed in Spanish and, although the officiant is bilingual, she was unable to perform any part of the ceremony in Spanish. Lastly, before we could say thank you, good luck driving back to Houston, she promptly left. Overall she was not bad at all. She got there early, charged us a bit more in accordance with the contract, and left. But with small changes and a bit more conversation, it could’ve been a lot better. All the best.
Dec 30, 2020VerifiedOddities United Weddings & Events's replyThe ceremony was booked 2 weeks prior. Met him at a hospital parking lot to sign the contract for free. Gave the information to his fiancé who spoke Spanish and him in English. Arrived at 2:30pm which he paid to start at 3:00pm and did not ask to start until 3:45pm and left at 4:10pm.His fiancé did not arrive until 3:30pm and still had to get dressed. The contract clearly states your time starts 15 minutes before the ceremony contract start time. He was advised payment is done before the ceremony. Of course we do not take payment after. That is ridiculous to think. I will not wait for you to have your hugs and pictures before I get paid. I will be waiting for you on top of the time you were already late. It’s common sense. I do not wait around and mingle I am working.

Wedding Officiant
I am disappointed with our experience with Oddities United. I spoke with Adela on the phone a few times prior to our wedding day. She seemed professional, polite, friendly and well spoken. I felt confident that she would do a great job. During our ceremony: The person marrying us had a very thick accent and was very difficult to understand. I wasn't sure what she was saying at all a few times. I realized this person may not be Adela. Who is she? I should have been focusing on our vows since it is the most important part of the wedding but I became aggravated and angry that this person didn't introduce herself, and was not the person I thought I hired. Afterwards, when she handed me the marriage license, I said thank you, Adela. She said I am not Adela, I am her mother. There was no explanation, and no one told me that someone else would be officiating the ceremony. I am sure her mother is a nice lady and this is nothing personal against her, but I would not have hired someone with a heavy accent to officiate our ceremony so that everyone can understand the important words she has been hired to say.

Super professional! Was on time and didn’t mind to wait a little longer from the original time the ceremony was supposed to start. I love how our ceremony was done. Adela was amazing and totally recommend her to anyone! Thank you so much!!!
