I can't say enough great things about everyone at Enoch Electric & Air. To begin, their communication is extraordinary. They didn't send me a canned response to my project, and they took the time to understand my specific needs and were able to provide a quote after I provided a couple of pictures. Between communications on Thumbtack and over the phone, I felt at ease with Enoch as they were extremely transparent with their pricing. The work itself - the technician gave me a call when he was about 20 minutes out, and was courteous, professional, and finished the work in an extremely effective manner. I had a quick install of a 14-50 nema outlet, about a foot away from my electrical panel, so it was a relatively quick job. After the work, the technician ran a voltage test to show me that the outlet was getting sufficient power, and then was on his way. I'll definitely be giving these guys a call next time I have any electrical work done.

I had Christian Restorations install our dishwasher, garbage disposal, and kitchen sink a couple months again . He did an excellent job and everything is working great. He was very easy to get along with, efficient, and priced very fairly. I appreciated his professionalism and explanations as I had lots of questions. Overall I was very pleased with his work and will hire him for more jobs in the future.

we hired Dan to work on plumbing repair after we removed an old sink cabinetry replaced with a new pedestal sink. He has done an excellent job by hiding the exposed pipes and drainage with new sheetrock and best of all he fixed a broken sewer flap the common issue for old house. We are very happy with his work and free from the sticking smell!

It was an unusual request but, the garbage disposal was placed on the wrong side of the two kitchen sink basins. These guys are very professional and did a great job switching the two drains. I will hire them again for any appliance repairs or maintenance. Jim D.

These guys came out same day to attempt to repair our unit. Unfortunately the repair didn't work (15 year old unit) so they came out early Saturday morning and did an emergency installation for us. They quoted us a fair and honest price when another company was dishonest with us and tried to take a lot of money from us for nothing. I will highly recommend these guys to my friends and family.

As soon as Jay arrived, he got down to business and quickly diagnosed the issue, had all the necessary parts with him and made the necessary repairs in about an hour. I will be calling Jay for my next appliance repair. He is an appliance expert and I highly recommend him!

Eric showed up on time, and spent the day doing the network wiring and electrical repairs I requested. All repairs were completed as promised, and so far the work is great. My only negative was that there was quite a bit of clean-up required after Eric left (cabling pieces left on the ground outside, lots of sheet rock debris where he had to cut holes to create the outlets, etc.)

I wanted to leave a review because I wanted to support a small local business. We didn't have any work done, because the appliance we needed repaired was an "odd duck" and parts were not available for it. They did call the vendor while at our house and try and figure out a way to obtain the parts, but with no luck. We appreicated the due dillegence. They were very responsive and professional.

Great value. He took time to repair my sheetrock right. He put plastic on the carpet, did a couple "extra value" things beyond the agreed-on scope, and was polite. You can trust this guy.

Q & A

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

How much does refrigerator repair cost?

Refrigerator repair generally costs a fraction of the price of a new fridge and shouldhave your appliance up and running again in no time. The problems your refrigerator is experiencing and the parts required to fix it will affect your repair costs. Where you live can affect labor rates, which will raise or lower your costs. Here are some examples of average costs:

  • Diagnostic fees: $50-$100. Repair pros often have a service call fee or diagnostic fee to account for their time traveling to your location with all their tools to assess the problem. If you choose to have them repair the fridge, most pros then credit this fee toward your repair cost.
  • Parts: $20-$500. A new compressor averages $200, an icemaker $300, and computerized components such as touch screens and control boards average $300 or more.
  • Basic repairs: $180-$400, including parts. This price range can include repairing the evaporator or fan motor.

How long do fridges last?

Refrigerators can last 10 to 20 years, although the most common lifespan is about 13 years. If your fridge is acting up, consider its current age when deciding whether to invest in repairs or buy a new one. Common easy fixes include faulty thermostats, dirty coils and clogged drain lines. Thermostats and dirty coils can be generally be fixed for an average cost of $80-$100. Clogged drain lines, which usually cause leaks, can often be fixed for under $200.

More complex refrigeration repairs such as replacing a bad compressor or replenishing low refrigerant can cost more because of expensive parts and higher labor. A new compressor costs an average of $200, not including labor. If labor is an average of $75-$100 per hour, and the repair takes 3 hours, you’re looking at roughly $500. Consider the age and purchase cost of your fridge; investing $350 in a $600 fridge that is 8 years old may not be cost-effective.
