Ken is an outstanding guitar teacher and I recommend him to anyone wanting to take their playing to the next level. I'm an intermediate player and Ken is helping me improve my technique as well as my ability to improvise and master the fretboard in general. He's real easy going and very personable which makes our time together enjoyable. And he's been accommodating with schedule changes due to my work schedule. One of the key things I like about working with Ken is that he leverages modern technology in his lessons. We've used Skype video for lessons when we can't be in-person and that works very well. He's video recorded clips of him playing a tricky passage so I can re-watch it as many times as needed. And he stores all my lesson material in Dropbox for me (including Guitar Pro tab) which I love, so I don't have a bunch of paper getting lost. (Plus the advantage of the Guitar Pro software being able to "play" the tablature so I can remember what the phrases/licks are supposed to sound like). All in all, Ken's a great teacher and I don't think anyone will be disappointed.

Ken has taken an old dog (I'm in my mid-50s) and taught him some new tricks. I went to Ken as someone who could play basic chords and follow tablature, but who really wanted to learn some music theory and context for understanding chord progressions, chord formation, and importantly for me, even how to play some lead. By focusing on music that I love, instead of forcing me through some boring regimen or insisting I play music selections HE likes, Ken helped me expand my understanding of the guitar and how music is formulated, written and expressed. He also taught me some really fun licks that I now know was teaching me fundamentals of music theory (sly devil). Ken possesses the patience of a saint -- he'd have to watching me try to play simple lead lines -- and manages to maintain that fine balance between expecting you to progress while not being judgmental or critical. He holds you accountable ("did you work on what we discussed last week?") while never losing sight of the fact that music should be fun and enlarging -- not some sort of death march. I don't know why someone as talented as Ken is teaching old dogs new tricks, versus touring with some great blues-rock band, but I'm glad he is.

Ken is my fourth guitar instructor and has helped me more than the other three put together. He does not rush, he tries to simplify the lessons and is very creative as to how we go about the learning the material. I am very well satisfied with the result. I am a beginner at age 69, so it is probably more difficult for me that for younger folks and he is very patient.

Ken has been teaching/mentoring me on the guitar for awhile & glad he has alot of patience. He has a good sense of humor which I welcome during the lesson's. Because as you know guitar can be frustrating at times, Ken alway's has an upbeat attitude & looks at different ways assist in my development. I would recommend Ken from beginner to advance lessons.

Ken has been a great guitar teacher for me and my son. Me as a beginner and my son as a moderately advanced player. Ken understands how to communicate and teach at whatever level a student is playing. He gives fun and challenging practice assignments and does not give discouraging lectures. If a student feels discouraged, Ken has fun confidence building exercises and videos to help.
