They have great customer service, the trailer is big enough to move three houses, however the price was too high and I only used them for about a hour. They also handle all of my thing like prize possessions as if they was carrying gold around. You can tell they like to do there job. At least two of them. Lol. Great company to go with if you look to move short or long distance.

Red Carpet moving did a great job and provided great service. I moved from an apartment on the third floor and they were very prompt and moved fast with only two movers. I would definitely refer them to anyone & will be using their services again!

This was going to originally be a one-star rating. I scheduled the movers between 8-9 am. The driver called me at 9:30 and said he was 20-25 minutes out. At 11, the movers were still not at our apartment and I called them and their hub, but got no answer. at 11:30, they called and said they had to finish up another job and I should have received a call from dispatch, but she must have forgotten to call us. They eventually got to our place at around noon. So, despite the three hour delay, the movers hauled butt and got everything completed in three hours and apologized profusely for the earlier miscommunication. We moved from a two story, two-bedroom town home to an upper-story three bedroom apartment. The two movers were quick, hard-working, professional and respectful. I would be willing to hire them again and hope that the delayed arrival time/miscommunication thing was a one-time only affair.

I legit needed movers within a day and they worked me. My closing ran longer so I had to ask them to come back at a later time and Theo was nothing nice and willing to work with my time. I do appreciate people who are professional and get the job done.

LaDavious and his buddy were amazing. They were on time and delivered on time (or even before). I've had other movers who initially quote something and then add hidden charges during the move. These guys are extremely professional. Quoted a very competitive price and didn't ask for even a single dollar more. I'd highly recommend any one who'd like to use his service.

Greg and his team are wonderful to work with. They answered all of my questions with the patience of a saint. When the two movers arrived, they were fast and made sure to inform me about the stability of some of my *cough* cheaper college furniture. Thanks, guys! Will use again if I ever have to move again.

This was completely a last minute move! Send a request for moving a 1 bedroom apartment via Thumbtack about 12:30 am, had a response with interest and price by about 6:30 am. We contacted by phone, spoke with Nick about 8:30 am and had movers promised by 10:00 am. They called about 9:30 and let us know they were on the way and arrived by 10:20. The movers were courteous, quick and very sensitive to an extremely difficult situation. We were completely finished before 1:00 pm.

Day and Night Movers - best movers I have ever used! The crew took great care of my furniture and art and were still smiling after 8 hours in the 100 degree heat. Though my move was expensive, what I paid was just under the estimate. These guys know what they are doing and I highly recommend!

Blake and team are really good professional movers. They moved my 2BHK to a new house. Although they took more time than i expected but there was absolutely NO damage at all to my stuff or to the new house. We did move my 3+2 recliner upstairs which was really heavy. But it was moved perfectly with no marks on either stairs or furniture. Will use them again.

This company maybe good for a local move based on other reviews, but I wouldn’t recommend them for a long distance move. Here is a few examples of why I rated them poor: lowball quotes and then increase the price when the truck is loaded, 15 days late on delivery, take no accountability for their actions, they outsource to other movers, and no respect for belongings.

As many folks have mentioned, moving is a ubiquitously hated part of life. But, in all honesty, Great Nation Moving makes it relatively painless. I have used many moving companies in my life but Great Nation and the moving team beat all the expectations. We moved to New England, and they did an awesome job. Came right on time, and did a quality job with unloading and setting up our belongings. We were packed and loaded in one day and delivered within 5 days without any scratches, dents, or missing items. They were on budget, nothing hidden, and the crew was fantastic and hard working. I Highly recommend Great Nation for a long distance move.

Really great job all ways moving! Almost one year ago I used them for a local move but last weekend they did an excellent job in our first long distance move. Their very friendly salesman Ben understood my expectation and did the job accordingly to avoid any uncertainty. Movers were great with their profession. Every one of their staff maintained very positive attitude. I realized that they always tried to read my mind and provided me all answers before asking them. I really respect their tremendous professionalism. From picking up to delivery I didn't find anything harmful there. I must say if you are searching world class moving company for any kinds of removal service, you can stop your searching. Just enjoy your move with Allways Moving.

My move was from Dallas to Charlotte, North Carolina. Since I've done a long distance move before in the past, I knew how important it was to look up the company's online reviews. Sti had good reviews online so I decided I'd use them. Martin helped me with a getting a quote. Everything went well from pickup to delivery. Thanks STI!

Q & A

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

How much does it cost for long-distance movers?

Long-distance movers transport your belongings across the country for you. No more renting a trailer and road-tripping from state to state with your entire house hitched to your bumper. Long-distance movers make the move happen so you can fly to your new home, suitcase in hand, and wait for your furniture to arrive. Nationally, the average price range for long-distance movers is $1,490-$2,230. The distance you are moving and the number of cubic feet the movers have to transport will both affect cost. Another factor in long-distance moving costs is whether you choose to pay for an exclusive move or a consolidated move.

In an exclusive move, which is more expensive, your belongings are the only cargo on the moving truck. The movers travel directly to your new house and deliver your belongings on a scheduled day. A consolidated move is more affordable because the movers transport your belongings along with those of other people, saving them time and gas — which means you save money. The downside is that your belongings typically arrive with a two-week delivery window rather than on a prescheduled day. Read reviews to make sure you can trust the company with your possessions to ensure a peaceful moving process.

How much does it cost to move a one-bedroom apartment across the country?

Professional movers can handle the hard work of moving your one-bedroom apartment across the country for you. You can determine what your move will cost by learning the rate your movers charge per cubic foot and how they factor distance into the total cost. Cross-country movers typically charge based on your belongings rather than apartment size because that determines how much work they will have to do. For example, a studio apartment that is crammed full of things will take more work and moving truck space than the contents of a three-bedroom apartment with very little furniture.

Cross-country movers may also have varying rates, depending on where in the country you are moving. For example, a company may charge $5 per cubic foot for consolidated moves along the East Coast and $6 per cubic foot for consolidated moves from the East Coast to the central states or the West Coast. A one-bedroom apartment costs approximately $1,500 to move across the country.

How much does it cost to move across the country?

The national average cost for hiring cross-country movers is $1,490-$2,220. A number of factors can affect the cost. One factor is the distance you want to move. For example, an East Coast-based moving company may charge $5 per cubic foot for consolidated moves along the East Coast and $6 per cubic foot for consolidated moves from the East Coast to the central states or the West Coast. Another factor is how many belongings you have. Most cross-country movers charge by the cubic foot.

The type of move you want is another consideration in cost. You can have your belongings moved exclusively and delivered on a set day, or you can opt for a consolidated move, which is less expensive. In a consolidated move your belongings are stored and transported with the goods of other customers who are moving to your general vicinity during the same general time frame as you. Your belongings should arrive within a one- to two-week window, rather than on a set day. If you want the cross-country movers to pack your belongings for you, the cost will also increase.
