This company is great! Really helped my niece with her SAT prep. I bought a package for her and the Arbor Tutors customer service was so easy to work with and she's ready to begin tutoring the next day.

"A patient, intuitive and smart tutor who really connects with me" Sandeep is an expert. He exceeded my expectations. If you want the best and if you want the best results, go with Sandeep. Sandeep is an excellent tutor. He was extremely thorough and quickly found my weaknesses. he was extremely valuable when he focused on my weak points and we worked together to improve them. He also helped me write, edit and proofread my college applications, essays, resume and cover letter. I had a wonderful experience with Sandeep. I really enjoyed my sessions with him. He is brilliant and he connected with and engaged me and truly made SAT prep fun and positive for me. I was also looking for someone to help me write my personal statement for my college apps and to polish up my cover letter and resume. I was looking for someone with excellent writing skills. Sandeep knows how to how to present my strengths in my essays and applications. I also worked with Sandeep remotely for a while (phone, emails & fax) and that saved a lot of time. Since Sandeep's rate is on the higher side, I did not work with him initially, but after working with him, I know he's totally worth it. Having worked with other tutors in the past, I can say that Sandeep is the tutor and writer you need if you are looking for the best. Don't wait.

She tutored my high school aged son. She inspired him, taught him and generally restored his confidence and love of simply doing well. She is so fun, intelligent and has a gift when it comes to teaching. Wouldn't hire anyone else. She's the best.

Before finding Brittany, our family had gone through six other tutors and tried a few different agencies. My daughter Maggie had not done well on her SAT and had struggled in math as well. Brittany worked with her over eight weeks to cover each section in depth and really helped her to understand the material. My daughter retook the test and her score improved 370 points! Brittany has so much experience and is so great at working with our daughter to get to the root of the problem. We recommended her to all of our friends with children in high school. If you need help with test prep for your students, she is the tutor for you! Brittany made Maggie feel so comfortable and helped her so much with understanding the material, that we kept her on as a weekly tutor for math and chemistry. She is such a bright and compassionate young girl, we feel so thankful to have her in our lives!

My experience with Mrs. Willis at Christian Cottage Prep changed my life for the better. There was alot of work every day in subjects like math and English, which felt cumbersome at the time. However, now I am in highschool and suddenly I'm the kid everyone is trying to copy off of. It's difficult to fail with this program because Mrs. Willis gives you 1 on 1 attention with every lesson. Even if you fail an assignment, she will tutor you on the side until you completely understand the material on it and she'll even let you make it up. I'm not going to pretend that there werent days I finished my homework and didnt see the sun in the sky. But thanks to all that work in Algebra 1, I have a better grasp in math class and I dont have to strain as hard as others do to understand what my Pre Cal teacher is saying. I also have to give Mrs. Willis credit for my PSAT scores, the colleges that saw my PSAT scores and are still blowing up my email, and that my writing skills are above 98% of Juniors nationwide. Thats not my ego talking, thats what the PSAT said. My ego would tell you I'm above 98% of seniors world-wide. Christian Cottage Prep is a prepratory school that left me well prepared for highschool, college, and life. And while Mrs. Willis wasn't my favorite teacher, she was the best teacher I've ever had.

Ms. Wen is an amazing violin instructor. She has studied violin and piano since 5 years to age and it shows through her knowledge and practice of the arts. My son and daughter love working with her and always look forward to her lessons. I make sure my kids practice at least 30 minutes every day to apply what they learned in their music and build a solid foundation. Wen is very responsive and will be flexible with my schedule if my kids have something come up. Recommend 5/5

You have worked hard. You have a good GPA - maybe even a great one. Now, college is around the corner and you wonder if you will score well enough on the SAT/ACT to get into a top school with a scholarship. The tests can be so confusing. The questions look familiar, like you should know the answers, like you have seen them before in a class. At the same time, the questions seem kind of strange. Common sense answer choices are sometimes wrong. Plus, sometimes, you only get about 60 seconds to answer a question!? Really!? What can you do? Well, that's where Mo comes in. Today, Mo has multiple degrees, including one from one of the best schools in the world. How much did this cost? $250,000. How much Mo paid for it? $0. Why? Mo figured out how to get perfect scores on tests like the SAT/ACT and got lots of scholarships for his scores. At Vensti, Mo and his team will help you achieve the same - get into top schools with scholarships. We start with a diagnostic, which we analyze to discover your strengths, weaknesses, and how well you can reason in the way that is needed on the test. This diagnostic forms the foundation of your customized prep course. In your prep, we break down and dig deep into each question type. This way we reveal to you what the test-makers thought as they designed the test and how exactly they test for key skills. Then, we help you learn those skills and show you proven strategies to get questions right - and fast, too. To make sure what you learn sticks, we provide you with daily practice and personalized feedback. The intense preparation we provide, together with your hard work in practicing, will give you the confidence to ace your test. A Personal Approach With Vensti, it is personal. Q & A

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

How do I prepare for the GMAT?

If you’re thinking of enrolling in graduate school to earn your MBA, it’s time to start thinking about preparing for the Graduate Management Admissions Test (GMAT). Working with a GMAT tutor is for many people a wise investment to help you strengthen the academic areas you may be weak in and improving your overall test score. A GMAT prep tutor should teach you not only the kind of information you need to know for the test, but the best test-taking strategies. The GMAT tests you on four categories: quantitative, verbal, integrated reasoning, and an analytical writing assessment. Cramming is probably not going to give you good results for this standardized test; give yourself between two and six months to prepare, focusing on your most challenging areas first. Successful GMAT prep means planning ahead and studying thoroughly. Those students who reported studying under 75 hours were more likely to score 400 or lower on the test, while students who studied 121 hours or more were more likely to score 700 or higher on the test. Hiring a GMAT prep tutor can range in price from under $50 to over $200 per hour.

How long does it take to prepare for the GMAT?

Pros recommend planning to spend two to six months for GMAT prep. The test itself is only 3.5 hours long, but your score will have a major effect on what schools grant you admission. If you’d like to be considered for one of the top-tier schools, it’s recommended to score at least a 700. Your goals for your MBA can help drive your GMAT prep. GMAT tutors will guide your study plan and help analyze your strengths and weaknesses. GMAT tutors also offer professional guidance and insights on strategic GMAT test-taking. Avail yourself of free GMAT prep software that provides sample test questions for you to practice. The creators of the GMAT recommend creating a structured study plan detailing when you will study each day and what topics you will study during each session. Take into account what style of learning works best for you (solo study, one-on-one tutoring, group tutoring, study groups, prep courses) and proceed accordingly. The test is made up of these four categories, each with an allotted time:

    • Analytical writing assessment: 1 topic, 30 minutes.
    • Integrated reasoning: 12 questions, 30 minutes.
    • Quantitative: 37 questions, 75 minutes.
    • Verbal: 41 questions: 75 minutes.
Hire skilled professionals for absolutely everything.
