We hired Dr. Wolfgang Soldan to teach my two sons German. They took German lessons with him on a weekly basis for around a year and we all loved him as a teacher. Having taught in high school, he knows how to engage kids, keep it fun and how to explain tough German grammar. I'm a native German speaker myself (and have failed teaching my sons myself) and am very impressed with his teaching, professionalism and kindness. He is a wonderful person and it shines through in his teaching. The only reason we stopped taking classes is that my boys are now taking German class in college (and getting As!), otherwise we'd still have lessons with Dr. Soldan. Very highly recommended!

I have been working with Dr. Wolfgang Soldan for several years now, and I must say, that the experience has been very rewarding at the least! Wolfgang is one of the most knowledgeable people I know and I have yet to ask a question he can't answer (keep in mind I speak with several native German speakers on a regular basis, many of which cannot explain what Wolfgang makes so simple!). Wolfgang has not only been able to answer all my questions as my German advances, but he started with me as a complete beginner! He has taught me the basics and continues to advance my German knowledge through challenging and fun exercises, as well as jokes, articles and many other sources. His knowledge of the English language and the history and relationship of German and English is unmatched. In the time I have spent with Wolfgang learning German, I have come to consider Wolfgang not only as great instructor, but also as someone I look forward to meeting on a weekly basis. Wolfgang was a superb instructor for our son. He spent much time on culture in addition to language. We would have continued if not for the lack of time due to a full academic and sports schedule.

Dr. Soldan is an awesome teacher. Both of our young sons, 13 and 15 at the time, worked with Dr. Soldan and their German greatly improved. He keeps it fun as I'd always hear our boys laughing and being very actively engaged during their lessons. Our oldest son (now 17) is now taking 200 level German language courses at Portland State University (as a high school junior) and getting A's and planning on attending summer school in Berlin in 2022. I thank Wolfgang for laying the foundation for my son's path toward mastering the German language.

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
The price is based on an hour (60 minutes). Of course, depending on the customer's interest, there can be online sessions of 45 minutes, or 90 minutes, etc. Unless the customer has special wishes (e.g. extensive preparations for the online classes) the price is $60 per online session of 60 minutes.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
My entire professional life I have been teaching languages. In Germany, it was mainly English, in the United States German, English, and English as a Second Language. I graduated from Humboldt University in Berlin (Germany) with an M.A. in English/ESL. In the United States, I graduated from the University of California, Santa Barbara with an M.A. in German language, culture, and history. I was awarded a Ph.D. degree from LaSalle University in Education.
