Eddie did tile flooring in the master bedroom. He took 6 days to finish the project. He is a hard worker and wants the customer to be satisfied. The time frame to do the work was extended by 2 days, so I would recommend setting a fixed rate for a project like this. The quality of work was good and I would not hesitate to hire him in the future.

They were available when Home Depot couldn't get to it for several weeks. They did an excellent job installing ceramic tile in my upstairs bathroom. They did less than perfect with the cove base. I would recommend them.

David and his worker Juan provided exceptional work in the demolition and installation of new wood-look ceramic tile flooring and porcelain flooring. David was prompt, thorough and flexible. His worker Juan provided great work with high attention to detail. In terms of criticism, demolition was dirty and the job took a little longer than anticipated, but at little to no fault of the contractor. I would recommend for similar work in the future.

Charles was going to be late for the start of the project, so he called me go let me know. Then he arrived at about the time he said he would, started right into the projec: finishing laying floor ceramic tile, and some repairs of tiles that had not adhered and others that had been damaged. The whole thing took two days, as he had said it woul. He did an excellent job; the cost was reasonabl. I would definitely hire him again.

The job was to paint one room and lay down carpet in two rooms. He picked the perfect color that goes with our tile. Was a total gentleman and very professional. He even went out of his way to fix some problems our previous contractors messed up. He is excellent at his trade and very efficient. We recommend Mr. Martinez to anyone. He is in and out as quick as possible. And very friendly and personable. Thank you for a job well done. Mr. & Mrs. Roberson

I had Betos tile redo the flooring in my house. This father and son team are the hardest working team I have ever seen. I was very impressed with their work, they did an awesome job. I had a lot of things going on and was gone pretty much everyday, I don't ever let people have free range of my house but I gave them a key and full acess. They called everyday when they locked up and cleaned up everyday I wouldn't hesitate to give them full range of a multimillion dollar mansion, they are the most honest people I have met. Not to mention they were there at exactly the time they told me Everytime they came out. Thanks again for everything you guys are the best

Jesse did great, meticulous and thorough work installing the wood flooring we purchased for the whole house. He did an excellent job grinding, leveling and prepping the concrete foundation before installing the wood floor - which was not mentioned or included in the other estimates we received. Also, wish we knew we could have purchased flooring through Jesse before we bought it from Lowes. Could have saved us about $1,500. The timeline took a little longer than we both expected but he was fully committed to getting it done right. The floor is seamless throughout the house and looks incredible. I would highly recommend him!

I hired Jesus to do the floor in my hallway, restrooms, Landry room, and kitchen! He did an amazing job!!! In between the job I decided to put in a backsplash!!! He did an awesome job!!! I cannot stress the politeness and enthusiasm he has for the job! Whatever you ask of him he will make happen! It was a two man team... he had another man, Santos, who is just as nice and helpful! Together they did a great job!

Fred demoed both tile and carpet and then installed a beautiful hardwood floor throughout 1500 sq. ft. The floor is everything we imagined. Fred is easy to work with. He is also willing to return if you find any finishing touches that were missed.

While looking for tile install I was contacted almost immediately upon placing my inquiry. Set an appt to view the work area, showed up on time, gave a fair bid, started the work right away, gave wonderful suggestions I hadn't even thought about and his work is impeccable. I'm so pleased! Polite, timely, efficient, professional. What more could I ask for? Will be hiring again for other projects.

My wife and I remodeled our kitchen with granite countertops, and they also installed our tile back splash as well. They did an excellent job, I mean our kitchen actually looks like its a totally different. My wife an I are very pleased with the new look. Even our family and friends are shocked at how much of a difference it actually made. I was mostly at work when they where doing the work, but my wife said that they where very polite and courteous. They where also very informative so we never felt as if though we where left in the dark which I myself found very pleasing. I personally do not like having a big project being done in my house and not knowing if everything is going good an on schedule. These guys would touch base with us before they would leave for the day, what they needed to finish, made sure that throughout they whole process we where happy with how it was coming along or if there was something we wanted to change. For me personally, I was very pleased that once they where completely done with our kitchen they actually came and pressure washed our driveway!! Ej told us they came an took care of that because they had been making all there cutouts out there, and he wanted to make sure they had cleaned up all there mess. Plus it was there way of thanking us, for hiring them an allowing them to work on a big project. Now I don't know about anyone else, but I have never had anyone do any type of work for me and they ended up doing an extra job like that. Free of charge no less. Simply to say thanks for hiring us. I know having a driveway pressure washed runs about what, $50-$75 somewhere around there. I've got to admit it. That in itself was absolutely Above&Beyond in my book. I would definitely recommend these guys to my friends an family, or anyone else for that matter.

Larry did multiple jobs for my family. He painted and installed my shutters and front door. He also finished a tile job that had been left incomplete by someone else. And he has done painting and installed lighting fixtures for me. As a single mom he was very affordable bad I was able to get a lot of things taken care of that needed to be done at home.

        Q & A

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

How much does it cost to get tiling done?

You can install tiling on your floors, walls, counters, kitchen backsplash, outdoor patio and shower — to name a few places. Tile is beautiful, easy to clean, durable, and resilient against kids and pets. The national average for tile installation cost ranges between $490 and $750. Often, tile installation specialists quote a price per square foot for installation. Costs can increase if you want the pro to supply the tile instead of ordering it yourself. Other factors that can increase cost include specialized installation with a unique design that will require more labor to install.

Prep work will also affect tile installation costs. Demolition of the existing floor, counter or backsplash takes time and energy that will be reflected in the price. Necessary repairs, such as a sub-floor that needs bolstering before tile flooring can be installed, will also increase costs. For tile showers, one example of tile installation cost may be approximately $25 per square foot including all materials and labor. Average tile installation costs for backsplashes may run anywhere from $10 to $40, depending on the materials selected and the amount of labor required. The larger the area where tile is being installed, the lower the price per square foot will likely be. For example, a flooring pro may charge approximately $3.50 per square foot for wood-look tile installation in an area ranging between 6 feet by 24 feet and 8 feet by 48 feet.

How much does it cost to tile a shower?

The cost of tiling a shower depends on two main factors: the size of the shower and the quality of the tiles. In general, most professional tilers charge an average of $25 per square foot of tiled area and the national average cost for a tile installation project is $490-$750. The tiles themselves are the greatest variable; the cost depends on their size, shape, pattern and manufacturer. For example, tile purchased at a volume discount from a big-box store cost far less than tiles made in small batches by an artisan ceramics shop. Prices can range from as little as $1 to $50 or more per square foot of tile. Other factors that will drive up the total tile installation cost are grout and mortar, speciality tiles like bullnose caps or soap holders, and surface prep materials, especially if drywall needs to be replaced before the tile can be installed. Many tile installers will also remove and haul away any old materials from an existing shower installation.

How much does it cost to tile a bathroom?

Tile installation costs are a key part of your bathroom remodel costs. The tile you select (which can range from under $2 per square foot to $50 per square foot or more), the demolition and repair work required prior to installation, and the size of the job will all affect cost. You can install tile in the shower, on the counters, on the wall or on the floor. The national average for tile installation cost ranges between $490 and $750. Bathroom tile is easy to clean and durable for daily life. Here are some examples of average bathroom tile installation costs:

        • Tile installation at $25 per square foot of tiled bathroom area.
          • A standard tub and shower combo requires tiles for approximately 60 inches of length. Calculate wall height and add 30 to 36 inches of tub width for the walls at the head and foot of the tub. If the tile walls are 6 feet to 8 feet high, in this example, the tile installation costs would run about $2,000. Price includes materials.
        • Tile installation on a 3-foot by 5-foot regular tub and shower walls with an 8-foot ceiling: $1,450. Price includes materials.
        • Tile installation on a 3-foot by 5-foot regular tub and shower walls with a 10-foot ceiling: $1,650. Price includes materials.

How much does it cost to install a ceramic tile floor?

Tile installation costs for ceramic floors depend on the type of tile you select. You can purchase tile that sells for under $2 per square foot or tile that costs $50 per square foot — or more for artisanal and hand-painted tiles. The cost of labor to install a tile floor will also depend on the tile you select. It is far less labor-intensive to install a white 12-inch by 12-inch square tile than a 2-inch by 2-inch hexagonal tile with a distinct pattern. That extra time and energy equates to a higher per-square-foot installation cost. For example, a flooring pro may charge approximately $3.50 per square foot for labor to install wood-look tile in an area ranging between 6 feet by 24 feet and 8 feet by 48 feet. That same pro may charge $6 or more per square foot for a more intricate pattern, or a smaller space. Some installers may charge a minimum day rate for ceramic tile floor installation, such as $340 minimum per day, to cover business expenses and employee wages. If you’re looking to reduce costs, removing your existing flooring and handling any repairs needed can help eliminate prep work costs. Prep work may be charged per hour and could cost anywhere from $25 to $80 per hour or more, depending on the region and the type of repair work necessary.

How much does it cost to install tiles in a kitchen?

One of the most common kitchen upgrades is installing decorative backsplash tiles in the space between the counters and cabinets. It’s a chance for homeowners to get creative while also protecting the kitchen walls from splashes and stains. Like all tiling projects, kitchen tile project costs depend on the tiles you choose, installation materials such as grout and mortar, and any surface materials, like replacement backer board. The national average for a tiled kitchen backsplash is $490-$750. In general, pricing averages $10-$40 per square foot for installation, not including tile. Some professional tile installers have a minimum day rate for small projects, which averages $350.
