Introduction: My name is Jillian Warman and I am the owner/operator of JW Lessons, LLC, an online music school offering a variety of music lessons including piano, voice, violin, viola, guitar, ukulele, songwriting, and music theory. We have two teenagers and one younger child that take lessons from Jillian. Between the three of them, Jillian teaches guitar, ukulele, and piano for our children. Two of our children also sing while playing their instruments. Our children look forward to their lessons, are motivated to practice, and are driven to prepare for their lessons. One of the biggest differences with Jillian as compared to other music teachers is that Jillian allows them to select the music they enjoy playing. She also helps select music that is suitable for their instrument and level. She allows them to select a wide range of genres – Christian, country, pop, and classical. Jillian is tremendously talented not only as a teacher but as a musician. She can quickly help a child master a song that she is not familiar with. She can hear the song played and immediately start teaching it. She can change the key of an original song to better fit our child's voice. She understands music theory and can teach it to any child at any age. Jillian is able to hear the smallest mistake and make corrections even though our lessons are online. She knows when it is the correct time to move onto a new piece so not to frustrate our children with small details; however, she challenges them to achieve an appropriate level of mastery before moving onto a new piece. Jillian's personality is refreshing, uplifting, encouraging, and has given our children a confidence to play their instruments for other people. She has taking her musical blessing and has blessed us with it. We love hearing the music she is teaching our children surround our home. We have been blessed by her in so many ways.

Our experience with JW Lessons, LLC is wonderful. Jillian is a very patient and encouraging teacher. Our son enjoys his lessons with her and she always has kind words to say. Although in this review we could only choose three of the five options (work quality, professionalism, responsiveness, value, and punctuality) I would have chosen all five. Her work quality, professionalism and value are above par, but so is her responsiveness and punctuality. Put very simply, she is a joy to work with and we are grateful that she was recommended to us.

My children have been taking classes with Jillian for over 6 years. They have not only gained fantastic skills in multiple instruments but have also gained a love for music. Jillian is a passionate teacher who values her students. Jillian has always helped my children feel confident while learning and always explains everything in a way they can understand. Our family is thankful we stumbled across such a wonderful music teacher. FAQs

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
All classes are online. Once we’ve established the platform we’ll use (Skype, FaceTime, or Zoom), we’ll schedule the first session, which is free. It is a session in which the student and I can get to know each other a bit and I can assess the student’s level, needs, and goals. After that, we will start regular weekly classes.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have been teaching music privately since 2012. I have also taught music at a university, worked with recording artists, and directed musical ensembles.
How did you get started doing this type of work?
I have been playing music for 26 years and playing professionally for 20 years. I wanted to become a music teacher in order to share the joy of music with as many people as possible.
