Mark G. says, "In our new house had an all wood look tile floor that started cracking almost immediately and after 3 years of having individual tiles replaced a few at a time over those three years our builder agreed to replace the flooring. We went with a LVP laid over the tile and insisted that Jared at LoneStar Craftwork did the work as he’d done several other projects for us and we knew his work would be excellent. He didn’t disappoint. He started with a leveling compound to fill the grout lines and ensure a completely flat surface for the LVP, pulled the doors, baseboards, and toilet, and even made a custom piece of trim to fit up against an exterior door threshold that the LVP didn’t fit up against properly. Now the floors look great and as an added bonus he even made the baseboards look better when he put them back in by simply taking a little more time to get everything straight and level… I didn’t even realize how bad they were before, but the difference is amazing. In addition to the floors we’ve had LoneStar Craftwork build some floating shelves, install dog doors through two different walls complete with trim, build a wooden Christmas tree, install shelves in a closet under our stairs, and build a custom printer cabinet for a plotter."See more

FAQs

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

There are several great options for waterproof basement flooring. For example, epoxy floors are waterproof but are thicker and sturdier than paint. Make sure the concrete substrate has been prepared for application.

Tile is a designer’s dream, giving you a moisture-resistant surface that’s infinitely customizable. Rubber sheets or tiles are also good waterproof options, particularly for playrooms, workout areas or laundry rooms.

Vinyl tiles and planks imitate wood or other materials very convincingly, provide moisture resistance and last a long time. And sheet vinyl is affordable and a great waterproofing solution for those in need of quick fixes.
