This is my brothers company. He worked very closely with our State Farm insurance adjuster for coverage. We got a new roof on our house with lifetime warranty, our freestanding office roof covered and even got the insurance to give us money for the remaining trees to be cut and trimmed from wind damage to the trees. Very honest, respectful Christian man!

This was a complete kitchen and bath remodel including enlarging the space for the kitchen. They worked with me to design both spaces and incorporated everything I wanted included custom designs sliding barn doors and cabinets. Their cabinet maker listened to me and built exactly what I wanted while keeping my budget in mind. I found items on houzz which he was able to custom build for me. They make corrections when something didn't work and made sure that I was pleased with the finished process. I will use them again and have recommended them to friends.

Mark and his team did an excellent job completely gutting and making over our kitchen. This was quite a large kitchen remodel with a fireplace being removed, an island with prep sink installed, and multiple appliances moved to new locations. It turned out absolutely beautiful and Mark always took the time to make sure they were really accomplishing my vision for the space. We could not be happier with the final outcome and are constantly getting compliments on our new kitchen. I would not hesitate to recommend Mark for any type of remodel job!

I had a wonderful experience with Hearne Construction Services for my bathroom remodeling project. Mr. Hearne was prompt to submit a written estimate and I was pleasantly surprised that the final cost ---which I thought was very reasonable--- included the services of an interior designer! She made it so much easier for me to create the Zen feel I was looking for! The construction crew was professional, punctual, and respectful. I was particularly impressed with the tile setter and carpenter’s attention to detail. This was a 5 week project and the workers made sure to leave the place clean and tidy at the end of each day. My next remodeling project is the kitchen. I definitely will be calling Hearne Construction back!

Deyrone Bailey and his crew completed removal of carpeting and laid tile in our bathroom as well as in the formal living and dining areas. He and crew were very respectable and timely and customer service was just admirable. I am so glad that my husband and I met them and chose them as our provider for remodel of our home. We will continue to call on Deyrone and his amazing crew who were very concerned with my spouse lifting heavy tile boxes in the store where we made the purchases. You just don't find good customer service anymore but these guys are awesome and I would recommend them to anyone for remodel services. We are very pleased with the work that was done and the clean up after the work was completed. We give these guys 10/10 thumbs up as they did an amazing job. Their job skill was accented by their passion for the work they do and the people they serve. We were extremely satisfied with the job they did and will call on them for other jobs as needed & refer them to others that we come in contact with. Thank you Deyrone and your posse for a job well done!!!

Ed was the architect for our home in South Fork, Colorado. It was such a pleasure working with him throughout the design process and following construction. There were very few minor changes necessary during the actual construction due to his attention to all the small details of design. One of the most significant problems that he was able to address was the integration of a fixed stairway to the attic area that would eventually be finished out as a bunk room for grandchildren. We are enjoying our vacation home with our families and wish we could be there all summer!

I have nothing but good things to say about this company! I needed a custom home built and they came in under budget and before schedule. I am thoroughly impressed with the work they did. Friendly and professional, Savior Contractor Management listened to my concerns, and made sure my every need was met. Though I already had the plans, I decided to make some last-minute changes, and they were more than willing to accommodate. If you need your home built from the ground up, I highly recommend this company!

    Q & A

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

    How do architects work?

Architects may work for an architecture or engineering firm, they may work for a government organization, they can work for a construction company, or they may be self-employed (freelance). The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics explains that architects spend a large amount of their working time in the home or company office: meeting with clients; creating reports and architectural drawings; and working with other architects and engineers. When not in an office, an architect is often at the construction site either as part of the development of plans or to ensure building progress is following the blueprint.

When a client interacts with an architect, it is typically to have them design drawings for the construction of a house or a building. If you are a client who has hired a large architecture firm, there may be a team of people working on your design. But if you are working with a freelance architect or a smaller firm, one person (or a small group) will take your concept and translate it into an architectural blueprint that a builder can use to construct a house. The plans will lay out everything from the depth of the foundation to the materials to use to the type of metal to be used in the reinforcement. Once the plans have been created and handed off to the builder, the architect may remain on the project — depending on budget — and oversee progress.

How do architects charge for their services?

According to the U.S. Department of Labor, the median salary of an architect in 2016 was $76,930. This range included architects with every type of company as well as self-employed architects. Depending on the architect and whether they’re with a firm or independent, they may charge per hour or by the square foot, or they may charge a percentage of the total budget for a construction project. An hourly rate is typically used for smaller projects such as providing consultation, helping clients hone their concept before the design process begins, or drafting documents and plans. If an architect is working on an hourly basis on a larger project, there will usually be an agreed-upon cap on the number of hours they will work. For larger projects, such as new construction or total overhaul remodels, architects may charge a percentage of the total construction costs. The architect will usually set the percentage you will pay after the total cost of construction has been accounted for. Percentages can range within a firm depending on the extent of the services they’re providing. For example, a lower percentage of the total construction costs may include drafting and minimal consultation and guidance along the way, while a higher percentage could include on-site project management services with every detail attended to. Architects may also charge by the square footage of the project. The rate per square foot can vary depending on the individual’s training, the services they are providing, the complexity of the project, and other factors — such as obtaining permits. The national average cost to hire an architect is between $1,690 and $2,500.
