That Guy Handyman does *not* stand by their work. We hired That Guy Handyman to repair and update the home we built 20 years ago. One line item in the project was to re-condition a damaged BBQ island / counter on our deck. I provided a link to the treatment and materials we desired for the siding that wrapped around the island. This exterior siding is called "open-joint siding". This link had images of the desired look as well as the methods on how to successfully apply it. They can do that." We are barely one year since installation, and the siding is literally falling apart and melting off (see pictures). In addition, here is a video too: I sent an email this week to ask for them to come back and rectify. The owner, Amy Wright, responded by saying they don't back their work past 30 days (really?), and then blamed us, the homeowner. Her is Amy's response verbatim and in-full: "Thank you for reaching out. We have a 30-day warranty for our work and as this is now a full year after the start of your project we are far beyond our warranty period. In regard to the material, you requested this type of material to be used on the BBQ, it appears that it was not maintained throughout the winter with a cover. Which is the same reason that you needed us to rebuild what had already been there. As this is a maintenance issue we are unable to extend the warranty of work. We highly suggest that you cover the grill area when not in use. Respectfully, Amy Wright Owner/Founder That Guy Handyman LLC" This is frustrating. It is one thing for the craftsmanship issues arise, but to not back it up is another thing. If you feel comfortable with siding, drywall, trim, electrical only having a "30 day warranty"—have at it. As for me, I am reasonably frustrating with lousy workmanship, and most important, the refusal to remedy the appalling result. Be aware.
