FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
There are two ways each customer can go about pricing: 1. An hourly rate of $50 and hour with a $100 min. payment 2. Piece rate based on something like linear feet of trim, for example. The hourly rate would be beneficial in that the customer can use services on multiple smaller jobs around the home, and could cut off the work after a specified number of hours if desired. The piece rate allows for the customer to receive a hard bid and compare to other hard bids for a specific task or project. Typically, my customers save money using the hourly rate.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
First I will request details of the project so that I can then provide information on what pricing will look like. If the customer chooses an hourly rate, I then give an estimated amount of time the work will require and set up a date to perform the work. If a hard bid is requested, then I gather information on the job and submit an estimate based on that information. Once the work is completed to the customer's satisfaction and according to agreements made between myself and the customer, then they will receive an invoice in their email that is typically due within 15 days. Jobs that are hard bid require a 50% deposit up front.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I am a licensed and insured general contractor in the state of Utah, with 4 years experience in fine woodworking. I am also a business major attending online school.
