FAQs
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
It just evolved the more I became involved with dogs. I started by loving my own, and then I wanted to help others, so I began volunteering with local shelters and rescue groups and realized how passionate I was about helping dogs. People kept telling me I should work with them for a living, and since I am too sensitive to work at a vet's office or shelter (I would be a wreck if I had to watch dogs suffering every day!), I decided pet sitting and dog walking would be the perfect outlet for my dog obsession!
- What types of customers have you worked with?
Off leash hikes along the East Bench and Jordan River trail. On leash hikes around the neighborhood and at parks. Pet sitting overnight at your house. Occasionally, I'm able to pet sit small dogs at my house. Taxi service to vet offices and groomers.
- Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?
I have 2 wonderful Labs that go on hikes with me twice a week. They are my longest clients, and one of them had a lot of issues around other dogs when we first started working together. As I have worked closely with him and used positive reinforcement training, I have been able to trust him more and more around other dogs. Now, I can take him on off-leash hikes and feel confident that he will behave when he meets a new dog on a trail. I'm so proud of him!
